The telephone kill on Lynda is one of Chapter 4’s most timing-dependent challenges in Halloween: The Game. It only registers if Michael is wearing the Sheet, has stalked Lynda to Level 3, and grabs her right beside the bedroom phone before Bob comes back upstairs. Rushing breaks the scene, so the whole thing rewards patience over speed.
Quick answer: Wait for Bob to leave the bedroom and go downstairs, keep the Sheet equipped, Shape Jump into the room while Lynda is on the phone, build her stalk to Level 3 with Killer Sense, then grab her and press the environmental interaction next to the phone.

What the Lynda telephone challenge requires
This is the third challenge in Chapter 4, The Babysitters. The exact condition is to take Lynda down with the telephone while wearing the Sheet. All three parts must line up in the same moment, so missing any one of them fails the challenge even if Lynda dies.
| Condition | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Sheet equipped | The challenge checks the disguise together with the phone kill. |
| Level 3 stalk on Lynda | The telephone interaction stays locked until stalk reaches Level 3. |
| Grab beside the phone | The special environmental trigger only works next to the bedroom phone. |
| Bob downstairs | If Bob sees you, the scene breaks and the window is lost. |

Add to Google Preferences →Set up the scene before Bob and Lynda reach the bedroom
After the cutscene of the couple arriving at the Wallace house, Bob and Lynda begin in the living room. Lynda calls someone to ask about Annie, gets no answer, and the pair heads upstairs for private time. Prepare the room before they get there.

Enter the bedroom with Shape Jump
Note: If the bedroom door is not open, crack it open from as far away as possible first, then Shape Jump from inside the bathroom to enter undetected.

Stalk Lynda to Level 3 and trigger the phone kill

If Lynda does not go to the phone
Lynda’s routine is not always identical. If she never gets up to make the call, you can still salvage the challenge. Hide in the bedroom closet and stalk from there, grab her directly off the bed, and drag her over to the phone to perform the execution.
How to confirm the challenge counted
After Lynda is dead, the challenge is marked complete, and if you moved fast enough Bob stays downstairs, unaware of anything happening upstairs. The reward, a cosmetic for the multiplayer mode, is only granted once you finish the entire chapter.
If you quit before the chapter ends, the objective is treated as incomplete and you lose the reward. Play through to the end of Chapter 4 to lock everything in.

Common reasons the telephone kill fails
- Stalk was not raised to Level 3, so the phone interaction never unlocked.
- The Sheet was not equipped when Lynda was grabbed, so the disguise condition failed.
- You were detected before entering the bedroom, causing Lynda to leave her routine.
- You grabbed Lynda away from the phone instead of using the environmental trigger next to it.
- You exited the game before the chapter finished, marking the challenge incomplete.
Treat the sequence as a set of scenes that need to reach their moment rather than a chase. Keep the Sheet on from the second Bob leaves it available, wait for Lynda on the phone, build the stalk quietly, and finish the grab at the phone while Bob is still out of the room.
