Every high-value pet in Steal An Egg starts with the same problem: a secret egg spawns, the chat announces it, and half the server sprints for it at once. Speed decides most of those races, and if someone on the server has more of it than you, the egg is gone before you reach the biome. The fix is not always more grinding. It is picking fights you can win.
Quick answer: Sort the game’s server list by Fewest Players, join a one- or two-player server where the others are slow or AFK, then grab secret eggs the moment the chat announces a spawn.
Which eggs are worth chasing
Rare eggs are announced in the system chat when they spawn, with the biome named in the message. Lines such as A Secret Cosmic Skeleton Boss Egg spawned in Cosmic🌌! or A Eternal Ice Dragon Egg spawned in Snow❄️! are your cue to move. An ALL EGG RESET! message means fresh spawns are landing across the map, so that is the moment to already be in position.
Reaching those biomes is gated by Speed, which you build on the treadmill. Bigger eggs also pay more, because a bigger egg hatches a bigger pet and a bigger pet earns more cash per second.

Later areas also appear in spawn alerts, including Titan Temple 🏛️, Demons 😈 and Angels 👼. If your Speed cannot carry an egg back from one of those zones, skip it and take the best egg you can actually deliver.
Server hopping to an empty lobby
Servers hold up to seven players, so a lobby with one or two people means almost no competition for a reset. This is the single most reliable way to claim a secret egg without a faster player snatching it off you on the run home.
Speed hackers show up in these lobbies too. If a player is covering the whole track instantly, leave and repeat the search rather than competing with them.
Safe Zone camping in busy servers
A full server flips the logic. You are not racing for the spawn, you are waiting at the finish line. Large eggs weigh down slower players, who are forced to drop them repeatedly on the way home, and a dropped egg is fair game for anyone standing nearby.
The friend hand-off for low-speed accounts
If your Speed cannot reach Cosmic or Titan Temple yet, a faster friend can bridge the gap. They do the long, dangerous part of the run; you do the last few steps.
Have them carry a high-value egg from the end of the track and drop it right at the entrance to your base. You pick it up from the ground and place it in your pen. The egg counts as yours from that point, which is the fastest way for a new account to own a pet it could never steal alone.
Speed boosts that win the race
Two systems give you temporary or permanent movement on top of your treadmill Speed. Boss Tokens come from defeating bosses and are spent in the Boss Shop, alongside your Boss Mastery level.

The 1.25x Speed booster is the one to buy before a reset. Five minutes is short, so activate it once you already know a spawn is coming rather than at the start of a session.
Trails look cosmetic but are straight Speed multipliers, and they stack with everything else you have built. The early tiers are cheap enough to be worth buying as soon as they unlock.

Free Speed is also handed out for liking and favouriting the game and joining the community group, worth 10,000 Speed. Claim it before anything else if you are new.
Clearing bosses out of the path
Each biome has a guardian that knocks you back to the start if it catches you mid-run, and the giant bosses at the end of the track are the biggest obstacle between you and a Titan Temple egg. Running past one while holding an egg can bait its attack animation, and that animation sometimes launches the boss outside the map gates entirely, leaving the route clear.
This behaviour is a physics quirk, not a designed mechanic. It does not fire every attempt, and a failed bait usually ends with you losing the egg and the run.
Confirming the egg is actually yours
Touching an egg is not the same as owning it. A run only counts once the egg sits inside your pen and the hatch timer starts.
Enter your farm and place the egg on a free patch of grass. The egg then shows its own growth countdown, such as 3h 59m, with a Skip Growth option next to it. When the timer runs out the egg does not open by itself, so return to your pen and press the hatch button to reveal the pet.
After that, the rest of the loop takes over. Upgrade your pen so it holds more and better pets, use Equip Best rather than sorting your roster by hand, and check the Index after every new pet for its claim reward. The Fuse Machine turns three surplus pets into one stronger result, which is where leftovers from a good server-hopping session end up.
