How to Unlock All Three Endings in Halloween: The Game

Every escape route Michael can take in Chapter 5, plus the exact trigger for the sewer, railroad, and cornfield finishes.

Every escape route Michael can take in Chapter 5, plus the exact trigger for the sewer, railroad, and cornfield finishes.

The story campaign closes with three separate endings, and each one is decided by which exit Michael Myers uses to leave Haddonfield. All three live inside the final chapter, Into the Shadows, so you never have to replay the Prologue or the earlier chapters to see a different outcome.

Quick answer: Reach Chapter 5 (Into the Shadows), then commit to one exit: head west and north to pry open the sewer for the Sewer ending, push northwest and cross the tracks after the train clears for the Railroad ending, or move right and north early to disappear into the Cornfield. Each escape plays a cutscene and completes the chapter.

How the ending branch works

There is no dialogue choice or menu asking which finale you want. The ending changes based on the direction you travel and which escape prompt you follow once Into the Shadows is underway. When you get close to a valid route, the HUD flashes a notification pointing you toward a sewer tunnel, the railroad tracks, or the cornfield.

The outcome does not change Michael’s fate. He always escapes. The route-specific scenes differ, but they converge into the same Dr. Loomis narration about the destruction left across Haddonfield. You are picking a different escape sequence, not a different story ending.

Sewer ending

This is the route most players reach without planning for it. The escape prompt appears once you move into the northern half of the map.

Head north until the notification about escaping through the sewer tunnel appears. Take down any officers blocking your path as you go.
Move west a short distance, then turn north again to find the path. Expect a cluster of officers along the way, so stay out of their line of sight where you can.
Continue north until you reach a fenced-off wall with a couple of police officers standing outside it. Slip past them rather than engaging.
Go left to find the sewer entrance and pry it open. That interaction starts the escape cutscene. The route’s unique payoff is the search party discovering only Michael’s abandoned mask after he is already gone.

Railroad ending

The railroad is the cleanest finish because the game gives you an obvious condition once the route becomes active. It is the route to take if your only goal is to reach the credits.

Once you are in the final chapter, keep to the left side of the map. Staying left also lets you avoid Dr. Loomis spotting you.
Head toward the northwest. Working west first, clearing a few officers, then moving north reliably surfaces the “Escape From Tracks” objective.
When the prompt appears, watch the countdown for the arriving train. The tracks sit on the north, right side of the map. Arriving late fails the ending, so keep moving.
Reach the red lights and wait for the train to fully clear the crossing before crossing. Once Michael makes it across, the ending cutscene plays. This is the worst moment to chase officers, since staying near them gives them more chances to interrupt the escape.

Cornfield ending

The cornfield is the ending players stumble into least often, because it sends Michael away from the streets where most of Into the Shadows takes place. Treat it as a deliberate target, not something you back into.

Right after the chapter begins, head to the right side of the map and slightly north. Commit to this direction early, since drifting back toward the center pulls you onto the sewer or railroad route instead.
Follow the pop-up prompting you to escape through the fields. The police will try to stop Michael before he reaches the corn, so keep pushing forward rather than turning back for kills.
Reach the field and move into the rows. The corn is the destination, not a specific item or switch. Entering it triggers the escape cutscene and ends the chapter. You do not need to defeat everyone at the edge, only to get away from them.

How to confirm the ending unlocked

Each route ends with its own escape cutscene, which is your confirmation the ending registered on that save. Completing Into the Shadows also grants the matching chapter achievement, and finishing the campaign unlocks “The End.”

The most common reason an ending fails to trigger is the railroad timer. If you reach the crossing after the train timer runs out, or you cross before the train clears, the route will not complete and you will need to reach the tracks again on time.

Note: You do not have to see every ending to finish the game, and there is no challenge tied to collecting all three. If you want completion, replay Into the Shadows directly and commit to the exit you have not used yet. A practical order is railroad first for the clearest finish, then the sewer, then the cornfield, but that is only a routing preference and does not gate one ending behind another.
