On Final Fantasy Resonance’s World Map, Marauder Cave is a side cave you can skip. Its sole foe is the powerful Marauder, counted among the game’s 15 “cave masters.” The cave becomes accessible in Chapter 1, though its level is above the chapter’s story dungeons.
Quick answer: Go northeast from Grandport Harbor’s entrance to the cave just east of Siren’s Tower. Fight the Lv15 Marauder (30,000 HP) with Wind attacks, and heal the whole party after each Thwack.
Where to find Marauder Cave
Marauder Cave sits in Lanzelt, the continent featured in Chapter 1, near Grandport Harbor and Siren’s Tower. Its entrance is directly on the World Map, so you can enter from the overworld.
There are no prerequisites: the cave becomes accessible when you can reach this part of Lanzelt in Chapter 1. The main story doesn’t take you there, making a visit optional.

The cave consists of one room containing the Marauder and the exit. There are no chests, Tablet Shard, ground items, or random encounters. Approach the Marauder and touch it to trigger the fight.
Marauder stats, weakness and resistances
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Level | 15 |
| HP | 30,000 |
| Type | Humanoid |
| Weak to | Wind |
| Resists / Nullifies / Absorbs | None |
| Immune to | Poison, Confuse, Stone, Charm, Instant Death, Gravity |
| 80% resistance | Blind, Sleep, Silence, Paralysis, Berserk |
| 50% resistance | Slow, ATK / DEF / INT / MND Down |
| Escape | Allowed |
Wind is its only weakness, and every other element hits it normally. The cave’s recommended level is 15.

Marauder moves
| Move | What it does |
|---|---|
| Crush | Single target, physical |
| True Strike | Single target, physical |
| Trample | Single target, physical |
| Body Slam | Single target, physical, can paralyze |
| Thwack | Physical, hits the whole party several times |
| Bravery | Raises its own physical attack |
All of the Marauder’s attacks deal physical damage; it has no magic attacks. Watch out for Thwack in particular, as it hits every party member several times at once.
How to beat the Marauder
1. Aim to be around level 15 before entering. The next story dungeons are Siren’s Tower, recommended for level 11, and Mt. Thunderclap, recommended for level 13; the Marauder is tougher than either. If the fight proves too hard, return after Siren’s Tower or after leveling up in Chapter 2.
2. Use Wind attacks. Wind is its only weakness, so hit it with spells or physical skills such as Aero and Aero Blade. Wind Scroll I works too: it is sold at the Capital Market in the royal capital for 1,000 gil, and one use on the Marauder is all you need, since it is the only enemy. Weakness hits also help you stagger it.
3. Restore everyone’s HP after each Thwack. Healing just one character won’t prepare the party for the next attack. Keep an all-party heal ready, such as Healing Wind Resonance, Cura cast on everyone, or a Mist Potion. Avoid having multiple members remain at low HP together.
4. Raise physical defense, not magic defense. Since everything it does is physical, Protect is worth casting. Shell does nothing in this fight.
5. Guard against Paralysis. Body Slam may inflict Paralysis. Bring Unicorn Horns to cure it, or maintain a Light Veil to block one status ailment.
6. Recover before the boosted attacks. Bravery raises the Marauder’s physical attack, making its hits stronger for the next few turns. Restore HP before those attacks land.
7. Don’t count on status effects. It’s immune to Poison, Confuse, Stone, Charm, Instant Death and Gravity, and strongly resists Blind, Sleep, Silence, Paralysis and Berserk. Slow and the ATK / DEF Down debuffs land about half the time, so try them only when you have spare turns.
8. Run if you need to. Escape is allowed, so you can leave a fight that’s going badly and come back stronger.
The Marauder is a one-time fight. Once you beat it, it doesn’t come back.
Marauder rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Magicite Shard | x1 |
| Turbo Ether (drop) | x1 |
| EXP | 500 |
| Gil | 750 |
| AP | 30 |
The Magicite Shard is described in game as “A shard imbued with the power of the Farplane. Has the power to awaken visions.” That makes the Marauder an early answer to where to get Magicite, and the shard goes straight into how you awaken visions. The Turbo Ether is its drop, described as “Restores 150 MP.”

Marauder Cave and the cave master achievements
At Lv15, the Marauder is the lowest-level of the 15 cave masters, the strong enemies found in single-room caves throughout the World Map. Defeating it contributes to three achievements.
- “Magicite Hunter” (“Defeat a cave master.”) unlocks if the Marauder is your first cave master.
- “The Bigger They Are…” (“Defeat 5 cave masters.”) counts it as one of five.
- “The Harder They Fall” (“Defeat all cave masters.”) counts it as one of 15.
For the other 14, with where each cave is, see all cave masters (strong enemies). Every achievement is in our achievements guide, and the story bosses are in the bosses list.
