Mortal Shell 2: How to Cleanse the Sanguine Shoreline Beacon

The Sanguine Shoreline beacon sits inside the Sanguine Caverns region of Mortal Shell 2 and starts out corrupted, like most beacons in the game. To clear it you enter a short mini dungeon called Hermit’s Pass, deal with the skeletal enemies inside, pick up a Revered Gland, and cleanse a corrupted tree to claim an Ovum. Doing so unlocks fast travel here and lets you level up the Harbinger’s healing at the beacon itself.

Quick answer: Interact with the Sanguine Shoreline beacon and pick “Cleanse Beacon,” push through Hermit’s Pass and across the wooden bridge, kill the spider-like skeletons, climb the narrow crevice on the right to grab the Revered Gland, then select “Cleanse Corruption” on the corrupted tree to receive the Ovum.

Enter and cleanse the Sanguine Shoreline beacon

Walk up to the Sanguine Shoreline beacon and open its menu. Choose “Cleanse Beacon” to drop into the mini dungeon. This is the only entry point, and the challenge inside is what actually cleanses the beacon.

Follow the stone tunnel forward until you reach Hermit’s Pass. Keep moving until you hit a wooden bridge stretched over a deep chasm, then cross it.

Fight the multi-legged skeletal enemies guarding the far side of the bridge. They come at you in a group, so mix melee combos with your ranged attacks and clear them before pressing on.

Look to the right of the path for a narrow vertical rock crevice and climb it to reach a higher ledge. This side route holds the beacon’s main pickup.

Enter the candlelit alcove at the top and collect the Revered Gland. Keep it in mind, because you use it back at the beacon to upgrade your healing.

Continue to the corrupted tree structure at the end of the path and select “Cleanse Corruption.” This awards a new Ovum and finishes clearing the beacon. Watch for the “NEW OVUM FOUND” and “BEACON CLEANSED” prompts confirming the run is done.

What you get for clearing it

The run rewards two things worth collecting. The Ovum feeds directly into overall campaign progress, since siphoning Ova for Marrow Keep is how you open new areas and remove corrupted tendrils in the world. The Revered Gland is a healing upgrade material you spend at the beacon.

Spend the Revered Gland on Mother’s Pulse

Once the beacon is cleansed, its menu opens up more options, including character upgrades. The Revered Gland goes toward your Mother’s Pulse, which is the Harbinger’s healing.

Return to the now-cleansed Sanguine Shoreline beacon and open its menu again.

Select “Mother’s Pulse,” then choose “Improve Capacity.” Spending the Revered Gland here grants “Mother’s Pulse Capacity +1,” giving you more healing charges to work with.

Note: The same beacon also offers “Improve Efficiency” under Mother’s Pulse. Capacity adds another charge, so pick the option that matches how you want to survive the harder fights ahead.

How to confirm the beacon is done

You know the beacon is cleansed when the on-screen “BEACON CLEANSED” message appears after cleansing the corruption, and the beacon becomes usable for fast travel and resting. Interacting with it now restores your Health and Resolve and respawns nearby enemies, the same as any other active beacon.

If the beacon still reads as corrupted, you have not completed the mini dungeon yet. Make sure you reached the corrupted tree and selected “Cleanse Corruption” to pull the Ovum, since collecting the Revered Gland alone does not finish the beacon. With both the Ovum claimed and the healing upgrade applied, the Sanguine Shoreline is fully cleared and ready to travel back to at any time.
