Work Quietly is order 03 on the DMZ ORDERS PG 4 page in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. It has three tasks. You can finish two of them at the FOB without deploying. The third requires a careful run through Hajin, where you have to chain kills without getting hit.

Quick answer: Purchase a suppressor from the GUNSMITH, use the 3D PRINTER to make a Throwing Knife (25 Chemicals and 25 Metals), then defeat 8 enemies consecutively in Hajin without taking damage.

Work Quietly tasks on DMZ ORDERS PG 4

The order lists its three tasks under 03 WORK QUIETLY:

  • Gunsmith a Suppressor Onto a Weapon
  • Print a Throwing Knife
  • Kill 8 Enemies in a Row Without Being Damaged (x/8)

These objectives can progress in any order: the suppressor and kill streak may count before you print the Throwing Knife, and the streak may advance before you complete any other task on this page, including the Operation Rewards order.

Gunsmith a suppressor onto a weapon at the FOB

The task says “Gunsmith”, so you have to buy the suppressor at the GUNSMITH station.

At the FOB, access the GUNSMITH station. Select a weapon under EQUIPPED ON OPERATOR or STASH WEAPONS, then open it in the gunsmith.
Select the muzzle slot to view the SELECT MUZZLE menu, which displays the price of each muzzle. Pick one of the two suppressors in the table below.

Press ADD TO BUILD. The cart shows the BUILD COST. Removing broken attachments adds $1,000 each.
Confirm with HOLD TO PURCHASE. The task ticks at the FOB once the purchase goes through, so you don’t need to deploy.
SuppressorTypePrice
XRK MIL-TAC SUPPRESSORTACTICAL SILENCER$12,500
MEIKO 30CAL-SPLIGHT SILENCER$9,500

The XRK is described as “Exceptional sound reduction, but a noticeable impact on aiming down sight speed.” It lists Sound Suppression and Firing Stability as pros and Aim Down Sight Speed as its con. The Meiko is described as “A lightweight suppressor that offers reduced sound signature but impacts damage range.”

Unlocking a slot adds a fee beyond the attachment cost. On a weapon with no attachments, + 1ST ATTACHMENT SLOT costs $1,000; a 4TH ATTACHMENT SLOT costs $25,000. For a cheaper option, install the suppressor on a weapon with no attachments.

The Throwing Knife is an UNCOMMON lethal. In the printer it is described as a “Retrievable throwing knife that is lethal to unarmored targets and the head.” It costs 25 Chemicals and 25 Metals.

At the FOB, access the 3D PRINTER and select LETHALS.
Select THROWING KNIFE and check that you have the materials.
To equip it on your operator, hold HOLD TO PRINT TO OPERATOR (Space); alternatively, hold HOLD TO PRINT TO STASH (R). One print ticks the task.

Kill 8 enemies in a row without being damaged in Hajin

After deploying to Hajin, check the 03 WORK QUIETLY box on the screen’s right side; it updates with each kill and displays 1/8 after the first. The kills have to come in a row without you taking damage, so eliminate enemies before they can fire back.

One approach that works is to fight soldiers from medium to long range, where they have trouble hitting you. Two setups suit this:

  • A weapon with a magnified scope, such as an ISO Nightshade, lets you pick off targets across a compound wall.
  • A Han 86 with the suppressor from the gunsmith task kills soldiers with a single headshot.

A one-shot headshot ends the fight before the soldier can return fire, which keeps the streak going. Shown at 03:03 in TroubleChute Basics’s video. Image: Infinity Ward

Allow some time between targets. If combat becomes a close-range exchange, retreat to cover rather than trading shots. At Mujin Pass, clearing a house room by room with the suppressed Han 86 can push the count up, with one clean headshot for each kill.

When you secure kill eight, the counter shows 8/8 and a tick appears in the Orders panel on the tac map. Finish every task on DMZ ORDERS PG 4 to claim REWARDS FOR PG4: MEDIUM BACKPACK x1, AMMO BOX (Field Upgrade) x1, and CASH 20000.
