Palworld’s next major update, Version 1.1, will not be another huge content drop on the scale of the 1.0 launch. Pocketpair’s head of publishing and communications, John “Bucky” Buckley, made that clear after asking players what they wanted to see added, then walking back the biggest requests. The team does not want to spend a full year building one giant patch, so the ambitious ideas fans floated are off the table for now.
Quick answer: Palworld 1.1 will not include a new continent or island, a higher level cap, bigger bases, new or variant Pals, an automated crafting system, or new Tower Boss interactions. Expect smaller quality-of-life fixes and balance tweaks instead.

Major features that won’t arrive in Palworld 1.1
Buckley put out a call for suggestions on August 13, 2026, and the post pulled in more than 1,700 replies. Many were small tweaks, but plenty asked for sweeping additions. He responded that anything requiring a huge amount of development time falls outside what Pocketpair wants Version 1.1 to be.
The large-scale requests that have been ruled out for this update are grouped below.
| Feature | Status for 1.1 |
|---|---|
| New region, biome, or island | Not planned |
| Increased level cap | Not planned |
| Larger base size | Not planned |
| Improved base-building | Not planned |
| New Pals or variants of existing Pals | Not planned |
| Automated crafting system | Not planned |
| Additional Tower Boss interactions (like Zoe) | Not planned |
Why the big requests are off the table
The reasoning comes down to time. Buckley singled out the sort of massive asks that would eat months of work and said they simply do not fit the plan for this release.
Things like “add a new continent”, “add 20 more levels” and similarly massive undertakings are not really what we want to do with v1.1.
He was equally direct about the schedule, adding that the studio is “not planning to spend a year making a massive update for 1.1.” Pocketpair spent more than two and a half years in early access before shipping 1.0, and it does not want another wait that long between updates.
New Pals are a good example of the problem. When a player asked about adding variants, Buckley explained the holdup is workload rather than difficulty. Building a variant for the game’s 200-plus Pals, he said, “would take a considerably long time to do. Realistically, a year or more unless we hyper focus it.” Pocketpair also prefers to hand-create that content rather than automate it, which adds to the timeline.
For context, the 1.0 release added more than 70 new Pals along with new areas and mutation systems, and that scope is exactly what the team is trying to avoid repeating every cycle.
What Palworld 1.1 is likely to focus on
Instead of a new expansion, Version 1.1 is set up to refine systems that already exist. The community suggestions Buckley seemed most open to are practical fixes that free up space and reduce friction.
- Shrinking large base facilities such as the Assembly Line and Pal Expedition so bases have more usable room.
- A better storage system that lets you organize and search your items more easily.
- General balance changes and smaller improvements to existing mechanics.
Note: Pocketpair has not committed to any specific quality-of-life feature yet. Buckley framed these as ideas the team is open to, not confirmed inclusions.
Release timing and current status
There is no confirmed release date or complete feature list for Version 1.1. Pocketpair’s official Palworld account has teased that work is underway, sharing a photo of a “Palworld v1.1 Brainstorming Session” board inside the studio, but that only signals early planning rather than a launch window.
The full 1.0 build arrived on July 10, 2026, and has since received several smaller patches, including 1.0.1 for post-launch bug fixes and 1.0.3 for endgame tuning. Alongside the main game, Pocketpair is also working on Palworld Online, a mobile reimagining announced for later in 2026. With that project in motion, detailed 1.1 information may still be some way off.
The short version: for players: keep expectations grounded. Version 1.1 is shaping up as a tune-up rather than a new chapter, with the larger ideas like new lands, higher caps, and fresh Pals saved for a later point on Pocketpair’s post-1.0 roadmap.
