How to Get the Flesh Lily in Phantom Blade Zero (Yu’er’s Tale, Missable)

Quick answer: At the Flesh Lily Fields, defeat Hua, Deadly Betrothed, then collect the Twin Flesh Lilies and take them to Yu’er. She keeps one flower and gives you the Flesh Lily. Complete this before entering the Village of Lu.

How to start the Flesh Lily tale

You meet Yu’er early in the main quest AGAINST THE FLOW. In Weeping Creek Valley, a cutscene plays at a campfire on the stream bank, close to the First Meeting with Yu’er bell. Yu’er, a girl from the village, explains that her father is sick and that a medicinal recipe calls for a rare flower that might save him. When the cutscene ends, she stays by the fire and you can talk to her with E.

Her dialogue menu has three options: “Ask about the Main Road”, “Ask about the Woman’s Weeping” and “Ask How to Save Her Father”. Pick the last one. She brings up the recipe and names the flower, and the tale begins with the banner “FLESH LILY – Find the Flesh Lily for Yu’er”.

To confirm it started, open Quests > Tales. FLESH LILY appears there as “What Nourishes the Flawless Bloom?”, with the objective “Find the Flesh Lily for Yu’er”. As the tale goes on, it also lists “Check on Yu’er’s Father”, “After reaching Pangzhen, return to escort Yu’er home” and “Hand the Flesh Lily to Yu’er”. How to get the Flesh Lily for Yu’er

Head to the Flesh Lily Fields in Weeping Creek Valley, past the Valley Sha-Chi Tower. The bride Hua, Deadly Betrothed waits there among red spider lilies and candles by a wedding altar, and the fight begins as soon as you arrive. The Flesh Lily Fields bell is right beside the altar.

Defeat Hua (the Hua boss fight guide covers her attacks). Beating her also gives you the Scarlet Wraithblade.

Pick up the Twin Flesh Lilies in the fields, about 17 metres from the Flesh Lily Fields bell. They only appear after Hua is gone, and their description reads “A pair of white blossoms blooming from the same stem”. Soul wonders aloud whether this blood-fed flower is the one Yu’er needs. The objective then changes to handing the lily to Yu’er.

Bring the Twin Flesh Lilies to Yu’er. She waits near the Outpost in Weeping Creek Valley, and later at the thieves’ camp in the Crimson Forest.

Speak with her, then select “Hand the Flesh Lily to Yu’er”. She takes one flower and leaves you the other. You receive the FLESH LILY, described as “A white blossom in full bloom, nearly identical in form to the one given to Yu’er.”

Keep the Flesh Lily. It comes up again in a later scene at Yu’er’s home in Pangzhen, and that scene plays out differently if you don’t have it.

Is the Flesh Lily missable?

Yes. Entering the Village of Lu closes the tale’s find objective; after that, the Twin Flesh Lilies vanish from the Flesh Lily Fields. Yu’er also departs the Crimson Forest thieves’ camp when the tale Leave None Alive changes the camp (see Leave None Alive). The game offers no other source for the Flesh Lily, so defeat Hua and give Yu’er the flowers before proceeding to the Village of Lu.

In Pangzhen, right after the Blaze fight in the main quest TOWN OF DEATH, you pick up a red CRIMSON FLESH LILY: “Yu’er dropped this Flesh Lily. Its petals are as bright as blood, reeking of decay.” It is a separate item and does not replace the white Flesh Lily you get from Yu’er’s tale.
