Probably Stolen Eleanor Questline: Reporting Her Uncle’s Care Package for a Thank-You Gift

In Probably Stolen: Cyberpunk Shopkeeper Sim, Eleanor appears more than once. She has long red hair, a purple dress, a black shawl and a gold collar, and her lines tell you she came down from the Upper Levels and cannot go back. In our Mark Up (Normal) run on version 100-REV3, her storyline ran from Day 23 to Day 29. It centres on a stolen crate that a man claiming to be her uncle leaves at your window in her name.

Quick answer: On Day 28 Eleanor’s “uncle” leaves a stolen Care Package for her; hold Call Security while he is at the window for 50 credits. On Day 29 Eleanor offers a free gift: a HydraTech Micro Water Purifier or L’ESSENCE perfume.

Eleanor’s storyline day by day

These are the visits as they fell in our run. The days may differ in yours, but the order of events is the same chain: two purchases, an offer to sell her belongings, the uncle’s crate and her gift.

Eleanor’s first visits (Days 23 to 27)

On Day 23 she opens with “Charming. I suppose it works if you’ve never seen a proper storefront.” She wants Food with a budget of 300, and her Variety restriction means she won’t buy the same item twice, so offer her one of each food you stock.

By Day 25 her mood has dropped. She says “No news of my mother and they are not letting me back up.”, then “Why is this happening to me?” and “I hate it down here, this[…]” (cut off on screen).

That day she shops for Household Goods with a budget of 200. We sold her two Tubes of Toothpaste at 17 each.

Day 27, the day before rent is due, she comes to sell instead. She says “They didn’t let me bring much with me.” and “I don’t have any family left.” Remember that second line: it matters when she returns on Day 29.

Her lot holds three luxury items under “Offering Wholesale 50% Discount”: a Bottle of Spring Water (Est. Value 325), a Box of PAX Tampons (100) and a SYNC perfume (150), all for 288 with Accept Wholesale. You don’t need to buy the lot. We passed on it, and the storyline still went on to the care package and the thank-you gift.

How to report the Care Package for Eleanor (Day 28)

On Day 28, rent day, a seller named “Eleanor’s Uncle” comes to the window. He has short red hair, glasses, a black armoured top and a cybernetic arm. He opens with “Hello there. You know Eleanor, don’t you? I’m her… uncle.” and “We put together a little care package for her.”

He adds “And if anyone asks, you’ve ne[…]” and “Oh, and keep Security out of t[…]” (both cut off on screen). His selling panel stays empty (Total 0); instead, he sets a purple crate on the window ledge.

Hover over the crate before you do anything else. The tooltip reads “(Not Owned) Care Package for Eleanor” with the tags [Stolen(100% Heat)], [Luxury Item] and [Household Good], the labels “Free” and “Five Finger Discount IV”, and the text “A sealed crate of fine goods from the Upper Levels. Whoever packed it spared no expense. Strange, though: your Security feed lists it as reported stolen.”

Keep the uncle at the window as your current customer and press and hold the teal Call Security button under the counter. A quick click does nothing; Call Security is a hold button.

Check that the report registered. The uncle says “Hmm?” and the button’s tooltip changes to “The current customer has already been reported”.

Let Security take it from there. Two Security Officers appear beside him: “Hello, Shopkeeper. You reported a stolen item?”

His name tag changes from “Eleanor’s Uncle” to “Black Market Thug”, and he protests “I didn’t steal it! Here’s the receipt.”

An officer replies “Then why did you report this item as stolen?”, and they leave with him and the crate. The window empties and your credits go up: ours went from 372 to 422, so the report paid 50 credits. The stolen crate never ends up in your stock.

Day 29: “I don’t have an uncle” and the thank-you gift

Eleanor returns on Day 29 and confirms the man was not family: “My uncle? I don’t have an uncle.” She follows with “He left a crate for me? One that was[…]” (cut off on screen).

She then opens a BARTER OFFER panel titled “Eleanor’s thank-you gift: pick one.” Switch between the two gifts with the “Choose offer: 1 / 2” arrows and press Accept Offer to take the one on screen. The gift is free: no credits change hands.

Which gift to pick

HydraTech Micro Water Purifier: the better pick for most shops. At 1 durability per 100 ml, 75 durability cleans 7.5 litres up to Basewater purity. Just before this storyline the station’s Water Supply Crisis made clean water valuable, and customers came with empty bottles to fill, so the purifier turns cheap dirty water into stock you can sell. L’ESSENCE Pheromone Perfume: made by Solana Biogenics, it raises your trading bonus by 25% with the current customer, three times. It is Mid-Level Contraband, so holding it is a risk during Security inspections. Take it only if you already deal in contraband and keep it hidden.

Tips

Hover every free item a visitor leaves on the ledge. A [Stolen] tag on a gift is your cue to call Security.
Hold Call Security while the uncle is still at the window; the report is on him as the current customer.
Eleanor’s Day 27 lot is optional. Buy it only if the 288 fits your rent money, since rent was due the next day in our run.
