The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Climb Maragir Wealds Tower

Maragir Wealds Tower is one of the 11 scouting towers scattered across Vale Sangora, and it sits at the far eastern edge of the Maragir Wealds region. Climbing it reveals a batch of question mark icons across that part of the map, and it hands over the Blasphemous Echo Manual for your trouble. The catch is that the whole structure is built around vampiric traversal, so daytime attempts go nowhere.

Quick answer: Travel to the easternmost part of Maragir Wealds at night, kill the Vidmo specter inside the tower, then chain Shadowstep (hold R2/RT) between the broken floorboards and ledges until you reach the summit and get the “Scout the area” prompt.

Maragir Wealds Tower location and requirements

The tower is marked on the world map with a white tower icon once you are close enough, and it stands alone on the eastern boundary of the Maragir Wealds. Set it as your tracked objective from the map screen before you set out, because the surrounding woods are easy to get turned around in after dark.

DetailWhat to know
RegionEasternmost edge of Maragir Wealds
Time of dayNight only — vampiric traversal is required
Key abilityShadowstep (hold R2/RT to target a ledge)
Enemy insideA Vidmo specter
RewardBlasphemous Echo Manual
Time costNone — scouting towers do not advance the clock

Note: Because towers do not push time forward, there is no penalty for clearing this one early. Coen’s 30-day window stays untouched, which makes tower runs the cheapest map-revealing work in the game.

Climbing route to the top

Approach the stone tower after nightfall and go in through the ground-floor doorway. The lower level still has intact stairs, so climb those normally until the steps run out.

Deal with the Vidmo specter that haunts the interior before you start climbing. Fighting it mid-ascent while hanging off a ledge is far worse than clearing it on solid ground.

Look up for the gap in the wooden floorboards above you and hold R2/RT to enter targeting. Lock onto the opening and Shadowstep through it to land on the next floor.

Use Shadowstep a second time to skip past the collapsed section that blocks the stairwell. The anchor point sits above the rubble rather than beyond it, so aim upward.
Target the high ledge on the ruined inner wall and teleport again. This is the longest jump of the climb and puts you within reach of the last set of intact steps.
Walk the final steps to the summit. The “Scout the area” prompt appears the moment you reach the top platform.

Scouting the area and confirming it worked

Trigger the prompt at the top and Coen surveys the valley in a short cinematic. You then press the button prompt on each highlighted point in the distance — the tower is not counted as done until you have tagged every one of them.

You know it registered when you open the world map and see fresh question mark icons filling in the terrain around Maragir Wealds. Those markers cover the open world content in range — sacred stones, ancient circles, haunted sites, monster lairs and the rest — and they only appear after the survey is finished.

Before you drop back down, sweep the tower for containers. The Blasphemous Echo Manual is here, and manuals are how you raise Witchcraft and Swordmastery levels. Vampirism skills work differently and are tied to Corruption Level from drinking blood, so no manual will affect them.

Why the climb fails

There are only a handful of reasons the ascent stalls, and none of them are subtle.

  • It is daytime. Coen has no access to Shadowstep in human form, so the upper floors are unreachable. Wait for night.
  • The target reads “Out of range.” Move closer or find a different footing before holding the targeting button again.
  • The specter is still alive. Getting knocked around mid-teleport drops you back to the floor below and can kill you outright at low health.
  • The survey was left unfinished. Leaving the summit after the cutscene without tagging every point means the map icons never populate.

This is the third of 11 towers, and clearing all of them unlocks the Bird’s-Eye View trophy and achievement. Since none of them cost you time, it is worth stringing several together in one night — the Shapeshift skill from the Vampirism tree makes the trip between them considerably quicker.
