Trigger the quest in Oghasti, compel the Herbalist, and craft a one-time potion that permanently raises health and grants a Skill Point.

The Hedgehog Herb is a World Quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker that unlocks the Razkovniche Elixir, a Utility Item you can brew only once. Drinking it permanently raises Coen’s maximum Human Health by 20 percent and his maximum Vampiric Health by 10 percent, and it awards 1 Skill Point. Because the effects are permanent and the potion cannot be remade, finishing the quest is a straight gain for any build.

Quick answer: Go to the northeastern house in Oghasti (The Silts, southwest of Svartrau City), Compel the Herbalist during the day with Witchcraft, collect the Razkovniche Seeds and recipe, plant the seeds in the pot and wait one in-game day, then craft the Razkovniche Elixir with Anca, the Medic, or Coen himself.

Where to start The Hedgehog Herb quest

The quest begins in Oghasti, an abandoned village in The Silts region, southwest of Svartrau City. Head to the house in the northeastern part of the settlement and approach the body inside to trigger the objective.

Wolves have moved into the ruined village, so clear the ones blocking your path before you step into the house. Once you are inside and interact with the body, the quest activates.

Compel the Herbalist and collect the recipe

To learn what happened and unlock the recipe, you need to Compel the Herbalist. This requires two nearby items and a daytime Witchcraft interaction.

Grab the Axe resting by the house door.
Pick up the Watering Can next to the house.
Go inside and Compel the Herbalist during the day using your Witchcraft Ability. This only works in daylight, so wait for morning if it is currently night.

After the Compel, switch to Focus Mode and gather the ingredients and documents scattered around the room.

  • Inspect the small chest to get the Razkovniche Seeds.
  • Read the Herbalist’s Journal placed next to it.
  • Take the Razkovniche Potion Recipe from the northern beam.
  • Inspect the pot.

Grow the Razkovniche Plant

The seeds must be grown into a plant before the elixir can be made. This step consumes time, so plan around your other tasks.

Interact with the pot on the wooden table to plant the Razkovniche Seeds. This costs 1 Time Segment.
Wait one full in-game day, then return to the same pot to collect the Razkovniche Plant. Harvesting costs another 1 Time Segment.
Leave the house. Vidmo spawns outside as you exit, so defeat them before moving on.

Craft the Razkovniche Elixir

With the plant in hand, you choose who brews the potion. All three options produce the same result: the Razkovniche Elixir, 1 Skill Point, and the permanent Human and Vampiric Health increase. The only differences are cost and whether you see a story moment.

Crafting costs 1 Time Segment regardless of who does it. If you want the extra scene, hand the work to Anca. If you would rather save the trip, brew it yourself.

How to confirm the quest is complete

The Hedgehog Herb resolves the moment the elixir is crafted. You will receive the Razkovniche Elixir, 1 Skill Point, and the permanent boost to Coen’s maximum Human and Vampiric Health. Since the potion can only be made once, treat the plant and recipe as a single-use reward rather than a repeatable resource.

Note: If the Compel fails to trigger, check the time of day. The Herbalist can only be Compelled in daylight, and skipping either the Axe or the Watering Can can leave the interaction unavailable.
