Which flight path is closest depends on your faction. The distances below are measured in a straight line, so treat them as a direction to head in rather than a walking route.
- Alliance: Thorium Point in Searing Gorge. The entrance is south of it.
- Horde: Flame Crest in Burning Steppes. The entrance is west of it.
Blackrock Depths level, group size and faction
The area is contested, which means neither faction holds it. Every dungeon is open to both the Alliance and the Horde. The difference comes when a dungeon sits in the other faction’s territory, because then you have a longer trip through hostile land. Blackrock Depths does not carry that extra cost for either side.

Completing Blackrock Depths counts toward Master Spelunker, whose in-game text reads “Complete the following dungeons.” To complete Blackrock Depths for this achievement, you have to defeat its final boss, Emperor Dagran Thaurissan. Finishing every listed dungeon rewards 1 Legacy Point, which you can put toward the best Legacy talents.
