Quick answer: WoW Forever offers 99 mounts you can learn, along with 4 class mounts. You can obtain 42 at level 40, while the remaining 57 are for level 60.
In World of Warcraft: Forever, mounts are divided into two level ranges: the first become available at level 40, while the faster Epic mounts require level 60. Each mount is learned from an item, for example reins, a horn, a whistle or a bridle. The item’s tooltip reads “Teaches you how to summon this mount.”
How mounts work in WoW Forever
WoW Forever uses Burning Crusade’s payment model: the mount’s cost is included in your riding training, and learning the skill awards you a mount. The Cerulean Prideclaw comes with the Skyborne Heroic Pack, and the Spectral Bear is a Legacy reward.
- The Cerulean Prideclaw comes with the Skyborne Heroic Pack. This Epic ground mount requires level 60, and you must purchase the riding skill in-game to use it.
- The Spectral Bear is an Epic mount that requires level 60. You earn it from the Legacy reward track once your total Legacy Points reach its threshold. A Spectral Bear Cub unlocks at a separate threshold on the same track.
The Legacy track unlocks cosmetic rewards based on the total Legacy Points you have earned. The Legacy system and horizontal progression explainer covers how those points add up.
Level 40 mounts
Of the 42 level 40 mounts, 34 are Rare and 8 are Epic. Horses, Kodos, Mechanostriders and Skeletal horses have five mounts each. Galestriders, Rams, Raptors, Sabers and Wolves have four each, and there is one Tiger and one other mount. Galestriders are a new mount type, and the Empyrean, Regal, Stormy and Umber versions are all Rare at this level. The Veteran Adventurer’s Loyal Companion is also a Rare level 40 mount. The eight Epic mounts at level 40 are war mounts: the Black Battlestrider, Black War Kodo, Black War Ram, Black War Raptor, Black War Steed, Black War Tiger, Black War Wolf and Red Skeletal Warhorse. Horde players after a wolf can check where to buy riding wolf mounts in Orgrimmar.

Level 60 mounts
Of the 57 level 60 mounts, 52 are Epic and 5 are Rare. Most are the Epic “Swift” versions of the level 40 mounts, and that includes Swift versions of all four Galestriders. Sabers and Skeletal horses lead with seven each. Next come Kodos, Raptors and Wolves with six each, then Mechanostriders and Rams with five, and Galestriders and Qiraji Battle Tanks with four. There are also three Horses, plus one Bear, one Tiger, one Turtle and one other mount. The Crimson Rooster, Verdant Sea Turtle and Spectral Wolf Pack are all Epic at this level. Only five mounts here are Rare: the four Qiraji Battle Tanks, taught by the Blue, Green, Red and Yellow Qiraji Resonating Crystal, and Rivendare’s Deathcharger.

Class mounts
Paladins and Warlocks obtain mounts through class abilities rather than teaching items. A Paladin learns Summon Warhorse at level 40, then Summon Charger at level 60; both appear in the Paladin abilities by level. Warlocks learn Summon Felsteed and Summon Dreadsteed.
| Mount | Class | How it is learned |
|---|---|---|
Summon Warhorse | Paladin | Level 40 class ability |
Summon Charger | Paladin | Level 60 class ability |
| Summon Felsteed | Warlock | Warlock class mount |
