Tidal Siege is the survival event added to Anime Expeditions in Update 2.0. You hold lanes against enemy waves that spawn from both sides while fishing a central pool for units, traits, and equipment. Clearing waves pays out Sand Dollars, the event currency you spend in the Tidal Siege shop.
Quick answer: Open the Events menu, pick Tidal Siege, then Event Gamemode and start a stage. Place towers on both ends, fish the central pool during waves to earn traits and Sand Dollars, and activate the Sharktooth Conch during the run to unlock the Mythic Sharkfang unit.

Where to find Tidal Siege and its two stage types
Tidal Siege lives in the Events tab on the HUD. From the Events menu you reach the event Quests, the stages, and the event-only shop. The mode splits into two stage types that reward different things.
The Event mode is an infinite survival stage. You place your units, upgrade them, then fish the central pond while your towers handle the waves. Because it never ends, the enemy pressure eventually overwhelms your defense and the run closes out. It pays Sand Dollars, Djinn’s Treasure, and Player XP, and it is the fastest place to farm Sand Dollars once your units are set up.
The Portal mode requires a Summer Portal, which costs 1,000 Gems each. Buying access opens a special Summer Portal stage that hands out more Summer Portals along with Gems, Gold, Player XP, and Unit XP.

Note: In co-op, one player can hold the middle while another fishes aggressively. Sand Dollars still come from clearing waves, so keep the defense stable before committing to long fishing sessions.
How fishing works and what it drops
Fishing is the core mechanic of the event. You cast into pools found in the lobby and inside stages, then play a short alignment mini-game to land the catch. Each catch can return a Fish plus Sand Dollars, fishing XP, and milestone XP.

Beyond Fish, casts can pull up in-game units, traits, and equipment. Fishing also feeds two progression tracks: six Event Ranks that raise your currency gain and grant fishing titles, and 25 fishing milestones with escalating rewards.
All fishing rods and how to unlock them
| Rod | How to unlock | Passive |
|---|---|---|
| Normal Rod | Available to all players | None |
| Auto Rod | Reach Wave 150 in Tidal Siege | Higher lure speed, skips the mini-game |
| Advanced Rod | Buy from the shop (750 Sand Dollars) | None |
| Lucky Rod | 1% chance after catching any fish | Every 8th fish is guaranteed Mythic |
| Recycling Rod | Fish 100 times | Every 10 items sold recycles a random item into a Legendary |
The Lucky Rod is the rarest at a 1% acquisition chance, and its guaranteed Mythic every eighth catch makes it the strongest option for hunting rare units and tomes.

How to unlock Sharkfang and Sovereign
Sharkfang is a Mythic unit tied to the event. You unlock it by activating the Sharktooth Conch during a Tidal Siege run. There is also a Defeat Sharkfang Boss quest, which asks you to take down the Sharkfang boss as a separate objective.
Sovereign is not a fishing drop. You earn materials during the event and use them to craft the Sovereign’s Secret Portal, then clear that portal to receive the Sovereign unit as a reward.

Tidal Siege shop prices
Spend Sand Dollars in the event shop, reached from the Tidal Siege tab in the Events menu. The Tier 1 Summer Portal is the one item priced in Gems rather than Sand Dollars.
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Summer Capsule | 100 Sand Dollars |
| Tier 1 Summer Portal | 1,000 Gems |
| Trait Crystals (up to 200) | 250 Sand Dollars |
| Stat Rerolls (up to 100) | 100 Sand Dollars |
| Stat Locks (up to 100) | 100 Sand Dollars |
| Equipment Rerolls (up to 100) | 100 Sand Dollars |

| Poison Frog | 10,000 Sand Dollars |
| Poison Hook | 10,000 Sand Dollars |
| Fiery Staff | 10,000 Sand Dollars |
| Tideblade | 10,000 Sand Dollars |
The efficient loop is straightforward. Run Event mode to bank Sand Dollars, fish every wave to progress rank and milestone tracks, and upgrade your rod so later casts return rarer catches. Once you have the Sharktooth Conch active for Sharkfang and the materials for the Sovereign’s Secret Portal, the 10,000 Sand Dollar equipment pieces become the main long-term goal to grind toward before the event closes.
