Qingxiao is a 5-star Aero sword user built almost entirely around one system: Tune Strain. Her Mindlock passive stacks every time a teammate inflicts Tune Strain – Interfered on an enemy, and each stack amplifies the damage her Heavy Attacks, Ephemeral Transcendence hits, and Resonance Liberation deal to that target. Put her in a team that ignores that system and her numbers collapse. Put her with the right two Resonators and she clears Hazard Tower Floor 4 with more than 150 seconds left on the clock.
Quick answer: Run Qingxiao, Denia, and Mornye. Denia refreshes Tune Strain – Shifting and pushes the target’s Off-Tune Level up by 50% of its maximum, while Mornye raises Off-Tune Buildup Rate and heals. If you lack Denia, swap in Lynae; if you lack Mornye, Shorekeeper is the next-best sustain option.
Why Qingxiao needs Tune Strain teammates
Her damage does not sit in one bucket. It is spread across Heavy Attack, Resonance Liberation, and — once Sequence 6 is unlocked — Basic Attack. That spread is why flat, damage-type-specific buffs underperform on her and why all-damage amplification is worth so much more.
Mindlock caps at 15 stacks. Each stack amplifies damage taken from her key skills by 2%, with an extra 5% per stack on the first seven. Her inherent skill “To Know, To Banish” adds another 2% per stack on the same list, plus an additional Mindlock stack whenever a teammate applies Tune Strain – Interfered to an Overlord Class or Calamity Class target. The faster the team applies Tune Strain, the faster she reaches her ceiling.
One hard rule: do not mix Tune Rupture Resonators into these teams. The two systems overwrite each other and cut her response damage immediately.

Add to Google Preferences →The five best Qingxiao teams
All five of these compositions clear Hazard Tower Floor 4 against Level 100 Sigillum: Homebound Starfarer and Fallacy of No Return, hitting the 150-second threshold for a full three-star score. The list runs from highest ceiling to most accessible.
| Team | Composition | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Qingxiao / Denia / Mornye | Highest damage ceiling, smoothest rotation |
| 2 | Qingxiao / Lynae / Mornye | Accounts without Denia |
| 3 | Qingxiao / Denia / Shorekeeper | Crit-starved builds that need Shorekeeper’s buffs |
| 4 | Qingxiao / Ciaccona / Mornye | Existing Aero support rosters |
| 5 | Qingxiao / Mortefi / Verina | Low-investment accounts |
Team 1: Qingxiao, Denia, Mornye
This is the strongest option and the one everything else is measured against. Denia inflicts Tune Strain – Shifting and resets the duration of Tune Strain – Interfered, so the state stays up almost permanently. Her upgraded Outro Skill hands Qingxiao 40% All DMG Amplification, which matters because Qingxiao’s damage is scattered across several types rather than concentrated in one.
Mornye raises Off-Tune Buildup Rate for a chosen Resonator, which gets the team into its optimal state faster, and adds a Total DMG increase through Tune Break Boost on top of healing. The rotation is straightforward: open with Mornye to establish her buffs, swap to Denia to apply Shifting and trigger her Outro, then bring Qingxiao in to build Qin Heart and Sword Cadence, transform into Ephemeral Transcendence, and dump Heavy Attacks and her Liberation inside the amplification window.
Team 2: Qingxiao, Lynae, Mornye
Lynae applies and maintains the Tune Strain states Qingxiao needs, so the shell stays intact. She leans harder into Resonance Liberation DMG amplification, which only covers part of Qingxiao’s damage profile, so the total output lands below Denia’s version. The trade is comfort — Lynae’s rotation is smooth, less prone to being interrupted by enemy pressure, and she is easier to build without heavy investment.

Team 3: Qingxiao, Denia, Shorekeeper
Keep Denia for the Tune Strain core and slot Shorekeeper in as the sustain unit. Shorekeeper gives Crit Rate and Crit DMG, which patches Qingxiao’s relatively low base Crit Rate and makes her damage more consistent from run to run. You lose Mornye’s Off-Tune Buildup Rate boost, so setup takes slightly longer, but on an undercrit build the stat buffs can more than pay for it.
Team 4: Qingxiao, Ciaccona, Mornye
This one drops most of the Tune Strain support in favor of straight Aero scaling. Ciaccona supplies fast Concerto Energy regeneration plus Aero damage amplification, and her contribution improves noticeably with her signature weapon, Woodland Aria. Aalto works as a 4-star substitute if you do not have Ciaccona.
Mornye still holds the third slot here for her Tune Break Boost and healing, though her value drops when the team is not leaning on Tune Strain. Shorekeeper or Verina both work in that slot instead.

Team 5: Qingxiao, Mortefi, Verina
The low-investment build. Mortefi covers coordinated attacks and basic amplification, Verina keeps the team alive and adds her own damage buff. Sanhua works in Mortefi’s slot and Baizhi in Verina’s if that is what you have. Expect roughly 20 to 30 percent less team damage than the Denia and Mornye version, which is a real gap but a manageable one once Qingxiao herself is properly geared.

Checking that the rotation is working
The clearest confirmation is the Hazard Tower clear timer. All five of these teams finish Floor 4 with over 150 seconds remaining, which is the highest of the three thresholds and awards the maximum score. If you are clearing but landing between the 60 and 120 second marks, the rotation is losing time somewhere rather than the team being wrong.
Inside a fight, watch two things. First, whether Qingxiao enters Ephemeral Transcendence on schedule — that requires both Qin Heart and Sword Cadence to be full before she can cast Heavy Attack – Stringblade. Second, whether her big Heavy Attack lands while the support amplification is still active. Casting Heavy Attack – Stringblade under Heaven’s Clarity applies 3 stacks of Mindlock and increases the multiplier on her next Heaven’s Reckoning by 100%, so mistiming that swap costs a large chunk of the run.
Common reasons a Qingxiao team underperforms
Note: most of these are team construction problems, not build problems.
- A Tune Rupture unit is in the team and overwriting the Tune Strain states.
- No teammate applies Tune Strain – Interfered, leaving Mindlock stacks near zero.
- Energy Regen is too low for a clean loop. Target around 125%, or 115 to 130% depending on how much energy your supports feed back.
- The content is wave-based. Tune Strain needs ramp-up time, so modes like Whimpering Wastes blunt her noticeably compared to single-target tower floors.
Build settings that carry across every team
The gear does not change between these five compositions. The 5-piece Heart of Evil’s Purge set is her best-in-slot in all of them, paired with the Calamity Effigy main Echo, which grants repeated Aero DMG bonuses whenever Tune Strain is applied. It is a transform-type Echo, so its skill has to be worked into her combo rather than dropped in passively. Sierra Gale with Nightmare: Feilian Beringal is the alternative.
| Slot | Priority |
|---|---|
| Weapon | Glint of Clouds; Red Spring, Emerald Sentence, or Emerald of Genesis as fallbacks |
| 4-cost main stat | Crit Rate or Crit DMG |
| 3-cost main stats | One Aero DMG, one ATK% (two Aero DMG without Glint of Clouds) |
| 1-cost main stat | ATK% |
| Substats | Crit Rate and Crit DMG first, then Energy Regen and ATK% |
Glint of Clouds is ahead of the alternatives by a wide margin because its Aero DMG buffs trigger off her own Tune Strain application and stay active through most of a rotation. The other swords give her stats without that synergy, so they work but perform clearly worse.
The practical takeaway is that Qingxiao’s teammates matter more than most main DPS units in the game. Her Mindlock scaling only exists if someone else is feeding Tune Strain into the target, and the difference between a proper Tune Strain shell and an improvised one shows up immediately in clear times. If you own Denia and Mornye, use them. If you do not, the Lynae and Ciaccona variants keep the same rotation shape at a lower ceiling, and even the Mortefi and Verina version still finishes Floor 4 with the clock to spare.
