Every clue, the shed fight, and the crucifix choice in the Disturbed side quest, plus what it costs you in time.

Every clue, the shed fight, and the crucifix choice in the Disturbed side quest, plus what it costs you in time.

Someone dug up a boy’s grave in the Laslea Glen cemetery and walked off with the silver crucifix his grandmother left on the body. That’s the setup for Disturbed, an early side quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and the objective that trips people up is the middle one: “Track down the grave robber.” There’s no marker leading you to a person. You’re following mud.

Quick answer: Hold Focus Mode (L2/LT) and follow the yellow footprints from the grave, inspecting each patch of red mud along the way, until the trail dies in the narrow alley near the blacksmith at the village center. Go down that alley and inspect the broken shovel leaning against the shed — rotating it and pressing the prompt completes the objective and points you at Kostel’s shed.

Disturbed quest requirements, rewards, and time cost

Disturbed is optional, but it has a hard expiry date. If you push into the Sacred Covenant quest first, it fails and the crucifix is gone for good.

Inspect the defiled grave first

Head east from the Laslea Centre Shrine and you’ll reach the church with the cemetery out front. Crina is kneeling over the freshly disturbed grave of her grandson, Kvet. Talk to her and she’ll explain that a silver pendant is missing from the body.

Interact with the grave to enter scene investigation. Dots appear over anything worth a closer look — move the cursor onto one and hold Square (PlayStation) or X (Xbox) until the ring fills.
Examine the footprints on the right side of the grave. Coen notes the reddish soil that would have clung to the thief’s boots, which is the only reason the trail is trackable at all. Back out of investigation mode once he’s made the connection.

Follow the robber’s tracks using Focus Mode

Focus Mode is the whole quest. Hold L2 or LT and the footprints light up yellow against the ground; let go and they vanish, which is why people lose the trail halfway through the village.

With Focus Mode held, walk the prints away from the cemetery until you hit the broken stone wall. Inspect the smear of mud on the wall itself, not the ground beside it.

Keep following the trail into the village, stopping to inspect each mud patch it flags. The path takes you past Rainer’s stall and toward the blacksmith at the village center.
When the prints stop near the forge, don’t wander off looking for more. The trail is meant to end there — the next clues are objects, not footprints, and they sit down the narrow alley straight ahead.

Track down the grave robber: The broken shovel in the alley

Walk down the alley with Focus Mode still held and two things glow gold. The first is a broken shovel propped under the shed on your right; the second is a smaller object on the left, in front of the haystacks.

Inspect the shovel. That drops you into object investigation, where you rotate it with the stick to see both sides. Turn it until the prompt appears and press Square or X to confirm the soil caked on the blade matches the grave.

Inspect the second highlighted object by the haystacks. Coen puts the pieces together and identifies whose home this is, which is your confirmation the tracking half is over.

You’ll know it worked when the counter ticks over to “Track down the grave robber – 1 / 1” and the quest swaps to a new objective: “Search Kostel’s shed using Focus Mode.” Open the map and the marker sits on Kostel’s shed, right next to where you’re standing.

Search Kostel’s shed and the fistfight that follows

This is the part that costs you a time segment, so do it when you’re happy to spend one.

Open the shed door and look at the ground to your left. Under the straw is a trap door — a hidden floor compartment you can inspect.
Inspect it. Kostel walks in on you mid-search, and confronting him kicks off a fistfight. It ends either when you beat him or when you’ve lost roughly half your health.
Vladimir breaks up the brawl and sends Kostel away. He admits they took the crucifix because it’s silver, which the vrakhiri have outlawed since silver is their weakness. He talks about melting the metal down into arrows and, eventually, taking the silver mine.

Note: you can needle Vladimir or drink with him during the conversation. Neither changes anything.

Kvet’s crucifix: The only choice that changes anything

One dialogue option in that conversation actually matters, and it decides whether the pendant ends up in your inventory.

OptionWhat happens
Give Kvet’s cross backYou take the crucifix and can hand it to Crina, or claim you found it lying around, or tell her the truth about Vladimir.
I’ll keep this between usYou leave empty-handed and tell Crina you couldn’t find it.

Neither route carries long-term consequences, and the payout is identical: 250 XP and 25 Denarius either way. Head back to the church graveyard to close it out. Crina will then ask for help filling the grave back in — that’s another full time segment for no extra reward, so turning her down is a legitimate call if you’re rationing days.

If the tracking objective won’t advance

  • You skipped the footprints at the grave. The trail only appears after Coen notices the red soil during the grave investigation.
  • You let go of Focus Mode. The prints and the gold-highlighted objects are invisible without L2/LT held down.
  • You inspected the shovel without rotating it. The prompt only fires once you’ve turned it far enough to see the other side.
  • You’re hunting for more footprints past the forge. The trail genuinely ends at the alley; the shovel is the next clue.

Worth doing early, if only because the 30-day clock in The Blood of Dawnwalker makes small errands like this easy to lose track of. Finish Disturbed before Sacred Covenant opens up and you’ll bank the XP and coin for one time segment — two if you decide Crina deserves the help with the grave.
