The locked library inside the Cathedral Complex garden needs its own key, and a note pinned beside the door points you toward it. The Library Key is close by, so opening this door is a short detour rather than a full quest.
Quick answer: Enter the library from the balcony, take the stairs down to the first floor, walk to the main locked door, then turn right and grab the Library Key from the book stand. Return to the door and unlock it.
Cathedral Complex library location
The library sits in the northeastern garden of the Cathedral Complex. How you reach that garden depends entirely on whether it is day or night, because the Cathedral doors lock after dark.
During the day: walk into the Cathedral Complex and exit into the garden through the northeastern doors. That is the whole trip.
During the night: the doors are sealed, so you have two ways in. You can climb the Cathedral Complex Scouting Tower and use Clawride to slide down into the garden from the northern edge. Or you can take the route below.
Where to find the Library Key
The key is already inside the library, resting on a book stand a few steps from the door you want to open. You just need to get in through the balcony first, grab it, and walk back to unlock the door from the inside.
Once unlocked, the door stays open for you, so you can return to read the books whenever you want without repeating the climb.
How to enter the library without the key
You do not actually need the key in hand to get inside, since the balcony route lets you bypass the locked door entirely. This has to be done at night.
From here you can still follow the key steps above, unlocking the main door so future visits are simple. Grabbing the key is worth it even if you sneak in the first time.
