Fisch: How to Spawn the Tropical Squall Event in Skycrest

Tropical Squall is the weather event gating some of the most valuable content in Skycrest, from the extreme Ancient Idol trials that award the Titanic Charm to taming the Idol Taiga companion. Waiting for it to roll around naturally is slow, and the Keeper of the Sky task “Companion of the Squall” gives no hint about how to force it. There are two ways to make it happen on demand.

Quick answer: Drop down the well in Skycrest into Abaia’s Chamber, offer high-rarity fish at the Fire of Spirits until the altar reads 100%, then use Sundial Totems until the chat says “A Tropical Squall has descended!”

How the Tropical Squall trigger works

The weather in Fisch runs on a celestial cycle, and the Fire of Spirits altar in Abaia’s Chamber loads that cycle with storm weather. Filling the flame to 100% pushes a squall into the rotation, but the first one to land is usually a Raging Squall, not a Tropical Squall. Sundial Totems fast-forward the celestials, so you spin the cycle until the tropical version comes up.

The alternative skips all of that. A Tropical Squall Totem summons the weather directly with a single use, no altar and no cycling required. The catch is supply.

Method 1: Trigger it at the Fire of Spirits in Abaia’s Chamber

Head to Skycrest and find the large circular stone well cut into the floating island. Jump or glide straight down it. You land in Abaia’s Chamber, a green mist-filled stone area sitting at roughly depth 1335.

Walk up to the Fire of Spirits structure inside the chamber. The interact prompt reads [E] Fire of Spirits [0%] Offer Fish, and the percentage next to it is the flame strength you need to fill.

Start feeding fish into the fire. Rarity and weight both matter, so common catches barely move the bar while big-ticket species jump it several points at a time. Each offering prints a line in chat, such as “The Fire of Spirits consumes your Greenland Shark… (+6)”.

Keep offering until the altar hits 100% and the fire pit shifts to an orange-yellow glow. A Raging Squall descends at this point. That is the expected result, not a failure.

Activate a Sundial Totem from your hotbar. Chat confirms with “The celestials are moving significantly faster,” which pushes the weather cycle forward. Repeat with more Sundial Totems until “A Tropical Squall has descended!” appears.

Note: sacrificing fish at the Fire of Spirits during an active Tropical Squall expands the flame further, which raises nearby luck and weather spawn rates. It is also how you summon the Abaia Hunt, so it is worth keeping fish in reserve rather than dumping your entire inventory into the initial fill.

Best fish to offer for a fast 100%

Heavy, high-rarity catches are the fastest way to fill the bar. Sharks are the workhorses here, and a handful of them will get you most of the way there.

Method 2: Use a Tropical Squall Totem

Check Elder Kaito’s Weekly Shop in Skycrest. His inventory rotates on a weekly timer and mixes in items like the Aurora Totem, Artisan Spear, Golden Firefly and Exalted Relic, so the Tropical Squall Totem is not guaranteed to be on the shelf when you look.

If the shop is not stocking it, fish at Skycrest. The totem can be pulled out of the water there at roughly a 1 in 15,000 chance, which makes it a long-shot drop rather than a plan.

Equip the totem and use it. The weather flips immediately with no altar visit and no Sundial cycling.

Because the shop resets weekly and the drop rate is punishing, treat the totem as a bonus and the Fire of Spirits as your default route.

How to confirm the Tropical Squall triggered

The only confirmation you need is the server-wide chat line “A Tropical Squall has descended!” You may also see “The Cursed Isle has emerged from the fog!” fire alongside it. Until that first message appears, the weather is not active, no matter how the sky looks.

Why it does not trigger

The Fire of Spirits is below 100%. Sundial Totems do nothing for squall weather until the flame is full.
You stopped at the Raging Squall. That is a different weather event and you have to keep cycling past it.
You ran out of Sundial Totems mid-rotation. Stock several before you fill the altar.
You are offering low-rarity fish, which move the percentage too slowly to be practical.

What the Tropical Squall unlocks

The weather is a hard requirement for several pieces of Skycrest progression rather than just a cosmetic storm. Extreme Ancient Idol trials only run during squall weather, which is how the Titanic Charm and Flash Charm get unlocked. The Idol Taiga companion can only be tamed during a Tropical Squall, using fireflies as bait near the Ancient Idol statues, and you need enough Idol Favor before it will accept them.

Since the altar route is repeatable and the totem route depends on a weekly shop rotation, most players end up living in Abaia’s Chamber for a while. Bank your heavy sharks instead of selling them, keep a stack of Sundial Totems on hand, and you can call the storm down whenever a trial or a taming attempt needs it.
