Aniimo, the free-to-play creature-catching open-world RPG from Pawprint Studio, arrives in two waves rather than one. PC and consoles go first, mobile follows a week later, and the launch event schedule has already been mapped out through late October. Here is the full picture of when it unlocks, what you can claim, and what runs in the weeks after.
Quick answer: Aniimo goes live on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at 10:00 (UTC+8) on September 16, which is 2:00 AM UTC. The iOS and Android versions unlock at the same time on September 23.
Release time: September 16, 2026 at 10:00 (UTC+8) / 2:00 AM UTC
Aniimo release dates by platform
The staggered rollout is intentional, not a slip. Both dates were locked in when the launch trailer aired at gamescom Opening Night Live in late August, and the mobile gap is exactly seven days.
| Platform | Date | Store |
|---|---|---|
| PC | September 16, 2026 | Steam, Epic Games Store |
| PlayStation 5 | September 16, 2026 | PlayStation Store |
| Xbox Series X|S | September 16, 2026 | Xbox Store |
| iOS and Android | September 23, 2026 | App Store, Google Play |
The base game costs nothing on every platform, and crossplay and cross-save work across all of them. Monetization sits in cosmetics and a battle pass called the Companion Handbook, which is sold in several tiers and bundles extras such as additional storage space and Prismana Eggs.
Aniimo launch time in your region
Because the servers open at 2:00 AM UTC, a large slice of the Americas gets in on the evening of the previous calendar day. Both launches use the same clock, one week apart.

Preload Aniimo on PC and console
Preload is already open on PC and consoles, so the download can finish before the servers unlock.
Mobile preload is not part of this window. The App Store and Google Play versions become downloadable when the mobile release opens on September 23.
Global launch rewards and pre-registration milestones
Pre-registration passed 34 million sign-ups before launch, which clears every milestone tier on the board. That means all four reward levels are handed out to players at release rather than only the lower ones.
| Milestone | Reward |
|---|---|
| 10M | Glimmer ×200 |
| 15M | Aniipod Ultra ×2 |
| 20M | “Companion Promise” Limited Avatar Frame |
| 30M | “Sunlit Meadow” Limited Outfit |
Separate from the milestones, the launch event lineup hands out a batch of starter items and cosmetics.
- A rare Prismana Form Aniimo of your choice, unlocked by becoming a Junior Wayfarer.
- Aniimo Accessories, earned by filling out the Aniilog as you catch creatures.
- Free catching items, including Sparkling Cube, Aniipod Ultra and Tumbler.
- A mysterious Susuta egg for pre-registering, plus a random Perfect Egg for logging in across multiple days.
- Four outfits for free via story quests, Homeland features and cumulative check-ins.

The Susuta egg is tied to pre-registration specifically, so it needs to be claimed through the official site before you look for it in game.
Aniimo event calendar: August 28 to October 28
The official event calendar covers a two-month window running from August 28 to October 28, split between player events, update events and drop-rate periods. The two recurring rate-up tracks are Vein Abundance and Eggceleration, which raise drop rates for resource veins and eggs.
- Prismana Promise: Choose Your Prismana Aniimo
- Set Out, Pathfinder!
- Journey Handbook
- Who’s That Aniimo?
- Glamour Star
- Aniimo Discovery: Daemand
- Journey Moments
- Tracing the Trail
- Legendary Journey: Trail of Butterfly Shadows
- Legendary Journey: Walking with Volcalis & Gift of Blessing
The two Legendary Journey entries are the headline activities of the run, and they sit at the later end of the calendar rather than at launch. Exact start and end days for each event are surfaced in the in-game event tab and announcements, which is also where the calendar updates if anything shifts.

Where to check every Aniimo’s skills and roles
Alongside the launch push, the official Aniimo Wiki is live with the full creature roster. Entries are filterable by element, combat role and evolution stage, and each page carries stats, forms, habitats, traits and skill names. The roster currently stands at 100 Aniimo, with 123 alternate forms between them.
- Elements: holy, fire, ice, dark, electric, grass, water, rock, wind
- Roles: DPS, Heal, Support, Break, REGEN
- Stages: Lumin Stage, Gamma Stage, Nova Stage

What an Aniimo entry looks like
Emberpup, listed as NO.001, is a useful template for reading the rest. It is a fire and rock DPS creature with three forms (Basic, Highland and Mountain Woods) and evolutions across all three stages. It appears in the Zephyrus Landbridge and Russet Highlands.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Attributes | 371 |
| HP | 67 |
| ATK | 86 |
| DEF | 60 |
| MDEF | 60 |
| BREAK | 38 |
| REGEN | 60 |
Its three skills are Fire Kick, Pebble Kick and Fire Bolt. Its mobility option, Hustle, burns stamina for extra movement speed, and its trait Scorching Flames adds 15% damage against enemies weak to your element. Element matchups matter throughout, and the wiki lists all 81 attacker-defender combinations with their exact multipliers.
What you are playing at launch
Combat is real time rather than turn based, and it splits into two modes. Command Mode has you directing your Aniimo through a fight, while Twine Mode merges you with the creature so you control it directly, complete with dodge rolls, combos and its own skill set. Twining also doubles as traversal, since different creatures fly, burrow or swim, and it is the key to several environmental puzzles.

Catching runs on Aniipods and is a timing exercise rather than a stat check. Weather, time of day and local phenomena change which creatures appear, traps improve your odds, and individual species have exploitable habits — Budclaw, for instance, gets dizzy after hitting rocks. Most Aniimo can then evolve.

The social layer is substantial. Co-op exploration supports up to four players, high-level world bosses such as the level 85 dragon Infergon are built for teams, and Operation: Egg Heist is a three-player PvEvP race to collect eggs in the Lost Isles. Outside combat there is a personal RV and campsite, plus the Homeland, a farm-and-amusement-park base you decorate and staff with your own creatures.
Closed beta timeline before launch
Three closed tests ran before release, and all progress from them was wiped.
| Test | Dates | Platforms |
|---|---|---|
| Paws On (CB1) | July 4 – 10, 2025 | PC |
| Paws Up (CB2) | Jan 23 – Feb 8, 2026 | PC, iOS |
| Global Closed Beta | July 9 – 25, 2026 | PC, iOS, Android |
The Global Closed Beta ran across three regional shards and included the Bond Pact event, which let each tester seal one Aniimo to reclaim once the game launches. Separately, compensation for the CB2 delay — Glimmer x1000 and Aniipod Ultra x2 — was set aside for release rather than paid out during the test.
With the launch window this close, the practical move is simple: finish the preload on whichever platform you are using, make sure your pre-registration is tied to the account you plan to play on, and check the event tab on day one so the limited eggs and check-in outfits start counting from your first login.
