Nails are a basic building material in Enshrouded, feeding into chests, crafting stations, early weapons and a long list of furniture. The in-game description reads: “Nails made from Metal Scraps. Sharp objects that can be used as a tool or to improve a weapon.” You get them two ways: crafting at the Blacksmith or looting houses.
Quick answer: First rescue the Blacksmith and assign him to your Flame Altar. Speak with him, select Resources, and make Nails. 1 Metal Scraps makes 2 Nails.
Craft Nails at the Blacksmith
The reliable supply comes from the Blacksmith. Once he is living at your base, Nails become a standing recipe you can make in batches.
Loot Nails from houses
While you explore, open cupboards and shelves inside houses. They hold 4 Nails each, along with 2 Wood Planks.
What Nails are used for
The Table Saw at the Carpenter costs 8 Wood Logs, 10 Nails and 1 Circular Sawblades, and building it is how you unlock Wood Planks.

- Scrappy Sword (crafted by the Blacksmith): 2 Nails, 3 Metal Scraps, and 1 Wood Logs.
- Pikemead’s Bulwark (Blacksmith): 2–6 Nails depending on tier.
- Valor Heart Daggers (Hunter): 2–6 Nails depending on tier.
The Carpenter also uses Nails for beds, the Wooden Bathtub, the Wooden Lavatory, irrigation gates and the Polished Wooden furniture line.
