Building Blocks: Cinder’s Cradle is the Enshrouded building set built from Ancient stone, gold, and glowing signal blocks. Most of its seven pieces unlock as soon as you pick up the right raw material. The Ancient Beacon Block is different. It sits in a chest on Island Ruin, a lone floating tower high in the Sky Islands above Cinder’s Cradle, and getting there means a long climb, a boss fight, and some careful gliding.

Quick answer: Island Ruin holds the Ancient Beacon Block, one of seven pieces in Building Blocks: Cinder’s Cradle. The chest on the tower’s ground floor triggers “RECIPE UNLOCKED! Ancient Beacon Block at Workbench.”

Building Blocks: Cinder’s Cradle set pieces and unlocks

The set has seven blocks. All of them are crafted at the Workbench, and each craft produces 100 blocks. Three unlock automatically when you pick up a material. The other four come from exploring specific places.

Every block in the set is Common and stacks to 5,000. Like all building blocks, they are placed with the Construction Hammer while you stand in range of a Flame Altar. Collecting the whole set pays out 200 experience.

The four exploration blocks each have a note somewhere in the world pointing toward them:

  • Ancient Beacon Block: a note about an air current installation says the glowing signal blocks helped with navigation, and that more sit a few islands away.
  • Ancient Gold Block: a note about Ancients walking into the Mother Flame mentions solid gold blocks left behind nearby.
  • Ancient Circles Block: a note mentions spare blocks left over from a restoration job.
  • Weathered Ancient Stone Block: From the islands suspended over Cinder’s Cradle, spot Blackmire’s lost temple, an Ancient structure of weathered stone.

The weathered variant is the odd one out. Its look is tied to the Blackmire, where the local plants and damp air age Ancient stone into that worn finish.

Island Ruin and the Ancient Beacon Block

Island Ruin is a broken tower on its own floating rock, north of the boss arena past Worker’s Ward. Landing there charts the location (“NEW LOCATION CHARTED! 1 markers added.”), and the map entry ties it to the Building Blocks: Cinder’s Cradle set right away.

The recipe itself comes from a chest in the room on the tower’s ground floor. Opening it shows “RECIPE UNLOCKED! Ancient Beacon Block at Workbench,” which confirms the unlock. The same chest also holds the Violet Storm staff. Mechanical spider minions patrol the balconies and bridges around the tower, so expect a fight on the way in or out.

True to its name, the block emits a yellow glow visible from far away. It remains from an Ancient network for signaling and navigation, which has stopped working.

The route to Island Ruin through the Sky Islands

Island Ruin is not a quick trip. It sits near the top of a chain of floating islands, and every leg of the climb uses a different movement tool: teleport pads, the glider, climbable mesh, and launch updrafts.

Cinder’s Ascent to Gardens of Earthly Delights

The trip starts at Cinder’s Ascent, where a pink teleport platform among the temple ruins sends you up to Cinder’s Cradle – Sky Islands. Arriving charts the area and adds 11 map markers.

The world map then marks the new region, which floats above the Cinder’s Cradle lowlands.

Inside the spire, more pink teleport beams carry you higher. One pad is labeled “LOCATION ABOVE,” and it leads toward the open-air exit.

A large circular vault door at the top opens onto a balcony. From there, a short glide lands on Gardens of Earthly Delights, a floating garden. Nearby is a lore page, “The Ascent of Cinder’s Cradle,” and a cliff-crevice chest that holds Crestflame boots.

Worker’s Ward and the Ancient S.P.D.R. Construct

Past the gardens, the landmasses are linked by metal wire mesh walls you can climb, a foggy bridge, and a doorway blocked by webbing that has to be cut.

Floating boulders lead to a glowing yellow launch pad. Its updraft lifts you onto air currents toward Worker’s Ward, with fire bats harassing you along the way.

A Shroud Root sits in the Shroud pocket below Worker’s Ward. Destroying it awards one skill point. Up the stairs, in a courtyard, is the Ancient S.P.D.R. Construct. This mechanical spider calls in waves of smaller spider minions and fires laser barrages and energy spheres. Ranged wand attacks from under the low doorway overhangs keep you out of most of that fire. When the Construct goes down, it drops the Axe of Phobos.

The final glide to Island Ruin

An exit behind the arena climbs to a high launch pad. A series of updrafts lifts you onto a platform that overlooks the whole archipelago. From there, Island Ruin is a glide north through floating stone arches to the tower’s rock.

Gear found on the way to Island Ruin

The climb pays out more than a building recipe. Three pieces of Warrior gear turn up along the route.

Totempole Mace is a one-handed club that deals Blunt damage only and adds 22% Critical Strike Damage. Its damage scales from 11 at level 1 to 92 at level 55. To reach it, climb the mesh lattice to the top of the Island Ruin tower, then glide northwest to a broken building on the next floating rock. The chest is on its damaged upper balcony.

Axe Of Phobos is a two-handed axe that splits its damage evenly between Cutting and Ice. It carries Renewal 1, 24% Critical Strike Damage, and Parry Power 1, and its damage scales from 16 at level 1 to 138 at level 55.

Crestflame boots are level 45 feet armor with Earth Aura 1, Purification 1, 21 Health Regeneration, 11 Stamina Regeneration, 2 Frost Resistance, and a 90-second Wet Duration Reduction. They can also be crafted at the Blacksmith once your Flame is at level 9 or higher, as long as you craft them under a roof.

Below the ruins, the lower islands around Crater Isle hold meteorite samples for the Collections: Meteorites set. A Large Mesosiderite sits on a steaming crater rim, fire scorpions in a nearby cave drop Ember Carapace and Chondrite, and an Achondrite deposit waits on the Crater Isle slopes. It is a natural next stop once the Ancient Beacon Block recipe is in hand.
