FischFright 3, Fisch’s third Halloween event, has three Nessie variants to catch: Plush Nessie, Zombie Nessie, and Ghoul Nessie. Plush Nessie is easy to reach. You can roll for it while trick-or-treating or fishing almost anywhere in the event. The other two sit behind the Cemetery ritual chain on Caustic Hallow. Each one needs its own ritual, a specific bait, and Jack-o-Moon weather at night.
Quick answer: Trick-or-treat or fish Frightpools with Sour Jelly Candy for Plush Nessie. Clear the Haunted Cemetery Ritual for Zombie Nessie and the Ghoul Nessie Ritual for Ghoul Nessie, then fish the cemetery pool.

FischFright 3 Nessie variants compared
| Variant | Where it comes from | Bait | Weather / Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plush Nessie | Trick-or-Treating, any Frightpool | Sour Jelly Candy | None / None |
| Zombie Nessie | Haunted Cemetery Ritual pool | Black Licorice | Jack-o-Moon / Night |
| Ghoul Nessie | Ghoul Nessie Ritual or Spooky Cemetery Admin Event | Sour Jelly Candy | Jack-o-Moon / Night |
All three variants prefer Autumn. The Nessie variants are very rare catches, at roughly 1 in 7,055, so plan on spending a lot of casts in the right conditions. If you want a giant copy, appraisal can push a normal catch up to Big. Treasure appraisal then takes a Big one to Giant.
To reach the event area, talk to Captain Jack on the Haunted Ship at Moosewood Dock. Pick the “I want to Travel” option.

Plush Nessie is a Limited+ fish. Your luck stat does nothing for it, so better gear won’t raise the odds on a cast. There are three ways to roll for it.
Trick-or-Treating
Equip the Candy Bucket and knock on any event house. Then choose “Treat!” from the NPC’s dialogue. When a treat hands you an event fish, that fish has a 0.4% chance to be Plush Nessie. Many visits will give you Treats instead of a fish.
A better mask raises your odds of getting the rare treat rewards. The Dutchman Merchant sells them aboard the Flying Dutchman, which flies around Caustic Hallow.
| Mask | Price |
|---|---|
| Leviathan Mask | 10 Treats |
| Mossjaw Mask | 1,500 Treats |
Fishing a Frightpool
Cast into any Frightpool during Autumn with Sour Jelly Candy as bait. Weather and time of day don’t matter for Plush Nessie.
Spooky Cemetery Admin Event
While the Spooky Cemetery Admin Event is running on your server, Plush Nessie can bite in any body of water. The chance is fixed at 0.5%.
Keep at least one Plush Nessie and one Zombie Nessie. The Omniscient Ritual uses up one of each, and you have to clear that ritual before the Ghoul Nessie Ritual opens.

Ritual chain requirements for Zombie and Ghoul Nessie
Every FischFright 3 ritual starts at the Frankenstein NPC in the Cemetery on Caustic Hallow. Each one costs 100 Treats. The rituals unlock in a fixed order. Each clear adds two to your Hex Stage and gives you another Awakened Skeletal Hand. A timer starts once you begin, and you can’t pause it. Have every item ready first. Skeletal Hand items only count once they’re placed on the altar.
Clear these rituals in order to open the Haunted Cemetery Ritual:
- Hexed Ritual
- Scary Relic Ritual
- Haunted Ritual
- Jack-o-Moon Ritual
- Boglin Ritual
- Dutchman’s Blessing Ritual
- Enhanced Boglin Ritual
The Ghoul Nessie Ritual comes three steps later. After the Haunted Cemetery Ritual, you need to clear the Eldritch Ritual and then the Omniscient Ritual.

How to get Zombie Nessie (Haunted Cemetery Ritual)
To start the Haunted Cemetery Ritual, you need one completed Enhanced Boglin Ritual, Hex Stage 2, and four Awakened Skeletal Hands.
| Slot | Required items |
|---|---|
| Jack-o-Lanterns | Dirty Candy Corn, Crushed Bone, Strange Root, Giant Mushroom, Spider Eye, Bat Wing, Raven Feather (x1 each) |
| Skeletal Hands | Grim Skull, Vile Skull, Doomed Skull, Dobhar (x1 each) |
Only 2026 FischFright Skulls are accepted. Skulls left over from FischFright 2 won’t fill these slots.

How to get Ghoul Nessie (Ghoul Nessie Ritual)
Ghoul Nessie has two routes. You can run the Ghoul Nessie Ritual at the Cemetery. You can also fish during the Spooky Cemetery Admin Event if it lands on your server. Admin Events run only about once a week, so the ritual is the more reliable choice.
To start the Ghoul Nessie Ritual, you need one completed Omniscient Ritual, Hex Stage 2, and five Awakened Skeletal Hands.
| Slot | Required items |
|---|---|
| Jack-o-Lanterns | Dirty Candy Corn, Crushed Bone, Strange Root, Giant Mushroom, Spider Eye, Bat Wing, Raven Feather (x1 each) |
| Destroyed Jack-o-Lanterns | Dark Art Skull (x3) |
| Skeletal Hands | Grim Skull, Vile Skull, Doomed Skull, Eldritch Skull, Omniscient-mutated Dobhar (x1 each) |
Dark Art Skulls drop from Goblin’s Quest on Hard difficulty. Eldritch Skulls come from Eldritch Frightful Pools during Jack-o-Moon weather. You’ll need three Dark Art Skulls for the Destroyed Jack-o-Lantern slots alone.
Once the ritual is active, fish the Haunted Cemetery Pool at night during Autumn with Sour Jelly Candy, under Jack-o-Moon weather. You can buy a totem from the Dutchman Merchant for 15,000 Treats to force the weather. Some players call it the Jack-o-Lantern Totem, but it’s the Jack-o-Moon Totem that triggers the weather this fish needs.

How to confirm a Nessie catch
A successful catch adds the variant to your FischFright 3 Bestiary. Plush Nessie also triggers a catch quip, such as “So soft and spooky!”, “A cuddly little monster.”, or “Treasured plushie.” For the two ritual variants, check that the ritual reward fired. You should be teleported to the Haunted Cemetery, or the pool should appear after the cauldron fills. If neither happens, the ritual didn’t complete, and the pool you’re fishing won’t have Zombie or Ghoul Nessie in it.
