Storage Hunters: Open World switched to Halloween mode on October 17, 2026, at 7:00 PM UTC. The update adds a Halloween town with a graveyard, four tombstone garages, roaming zombies, nightly Trick-or-Treating, and a new currency called Candy. Candy is the only way into the event auctions. Everything Halloween-exclusive disappears when the event closes.
Quick answer: Earn Candy from quests, zombies, graves, and Trick-or-Treating, then spend 10 to 40 Candy to enter the four Halloween garages before the event ends on October 31, 2026.

Halloween Event dates and limited-time windows
Several parts of the event run on their own clocks. The Pumpkin Wagon leaves the shop a week before the rest of the event, so it has the shortest window.
| Content | Available until |
|---|---|
| Pumpkin Wagon (featured Vehicle Shop) | October 24, 2026 |
| Nights lasting 3x longer | October 31, 2026 |
| Halloween area, garages, and mutators | October 31, 2026, 7:00 PM UTC |
The Halloween area holds 59 items in total. Once the event ends, none of the Halloween-exclusive items or mutators can be obtained.
Halloween garages: Candy entry costs
The four Halloween garages sit in the graveyard as tombstones. You pay Candy to enter, then bid against NPCs for the contents. Each tier costs 10 Candy more than the last.
| Garage | Entry cost |
|---|---|
| Halloween Garage 1 (Tier I) | 10 Candy |
| Halloween Garage 2 (Tier II) | 20 Candy |
| Halloween Garage 3 (Tier III) | 30 Candy |
| Halloween Garage 4 (Tier IV) | 40 Candy |
Auctions in upper garages also satisfy the Headless Horseman’s jobs for lower garages. If you can afford an upper tier, you can skip grinding the cheaper one to finish its quests.

New Halloween mutators and their multipliers
Three limited mutators can only show up on items found in the Halloween garages. They join the two Autumn mutators from the previous week’s update, Falling Leaves and Senescence.
| Mutator | Value multiplier | Where it appears |
|---|---|---|
| [Spiderwebbed] | 5x | Halloween garages only |
| [Blood Moon] | 12.5x | Halloween garages only |
| [Spirited] | 25x | Halloween garages only |
How to earn Candy in Storage Hunters: Open World
Most Candy comes from activities in and around the Halloween town. Four NPCs run them: the Headless Horseman, the Grave Digger, the Witch, and the Skeleton. Halloween Candy packs are also an option if you’d rather buy than grind.
| Activity | NPC | Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Headless Horseman quests (30) | Headless Horseman | Candy, Diamonds, prizes |
| Delivering zombie bodies | Grave Digger | Candy |
| Defend the town (5 waves) | Grave Digger | Candy |
| Trick-or-Treating | Witch (Candy bags) | Candy, treats |
| Grave digging | Skeleton (shovel) | Candy, rare potions |
| Halloween Candy packs | None | Candy |

Zombies and town defense
Zombies roam the roads throughout the map. Shoot one, load its body onto your vehicle, and take it to the Grave Digger in Halloween town to trade it for Candy. The Grave Digger also offers co-op, where you and your friends defend against five zombie waves for a Candy reward.
Trick-or-Treating rules
Trick-or-Treating is available every night between 7 PM and 6 AM, with nights lasting three times as long through October 31. Before heading out, collect a free Candy bag from the Witch beside the Grave Digger. Larger bags cost Candy and increase your reward from each treat.
- Only knock on houses with their lights on.
- A house goes dark right after you knock.
- The lights come back on 3 minutes later, and the house can be knocked again.
- Doors are spread around the whole map, not just the Halloween town.
Grave digging and the two event potions
Buy a shovel from the Skeleton in the Halloween town, then dig up graves for Candy and rare potions. Not every grave pays out, since some are empty and haunted. Graves are where the two new limited potions drop.
| Potion | Effect |
|---|---|
| Halloween Luck Potion | +50% luck in Halloween auctions |
| Double Candy Potion | 2x Candy for 15 minutes |

Halloween Market rolls
Spare Candy can also go into the Halloween Market, which hands out a random item for 200 Candy per roll. It works the same way as the earlier Wild West Market. Most of the prize pool is potions.
| Prize | Drop chance |
|---|---|
| Unlimited Xray Alien Potion | 35.2% |
| Auction Rush Potion | 26.4% |
| Faster Grading Potion | 17.6% |
| Halloween Luck Potion | 8.8% |
| Free Grade Re-Roll Potion | Lower |
The patch notes call the Halloween Luck Potion a grave-only drop, but it also appears in the Market’s prize pool, so rolling is a second route to it.
Pumpkin Wagon and new Time Master Titles
The limited Pumpkin Wagon is in the featured Vehicle Shop for one week only, until October 24, 2026. After that, the featured slot rotates.
The update also adds four Time Master Titles tied to the Time Capsule. You unlock each one by collecting items of a given age: [Cobwebbed], [Antique], [Ancient], and [Timeless]. Items already in your collection count toward these titles, so some players will unlock them right away.
Base building changes in the Halloween update
Not everything in the patch is seasonal. These plot upgrades and base tweaks stay after October 31.
- The new Floor Limit upgrade raises your plot’s building cap to 5 floors.
- Three new Plot Capacity upgrades raise the item cap to 3,000, up from 2,700 in the Autumn update.
- Price tags can now appear on base items that aren’t for sale. Choose an item in Build Mode and enable its tag.
The Halloween area now sits alongside the hourly Cargo Train and the permanent areas, but it is the only place to find Candy, the three new mutators, and the 59 event items. Anything you want from the graveyard has to be collected before 7:00 PM UTC on October 31, 2026.
