World map of the Kingdom of Grandshelt with the royal capital selected and open sea around the islands in Final Fantasy Resonance

Adamantite in Final Fantasy Resonance comes from a treasure chest on the Rugged Mountain Path, from two Tablet Shard collector rewards at the Oblivion Palace, from the travelling Merchant Ship from Chapter 6, from three Colosseum Rank Battles and from one Mysidia Radar hidden treasure. That makes eight in all. Each piece you bring to Aileen, the rebels’ weaponsmith, becomes one new weapon for one party member.

Quick answer: Open the Adamantite chest on the Rugged Mountain Path, collect 80 and then 89 Tablet Shards for the two Tablet Shard collector rewards at the Oblivion Palace, buy one from the Merchant Ship for 35,000 gil (from Chapter 6), win Fledgling Battle 2, Brawler Battle 2 and Brawler Battle 3 in the Colosseum, and dig up the Adamantite hidden treasure with the Mysidia Radar.

The Rugged Mountain Path chest and the Tablet Shard collector

Adamantite appears in the Valuables category alongside key items, not consumables. Its description is: “An extremely hard and rare metal. Can be used as a material to craft weapons in the right hands.”

On the Rugged Mountain Path, one treasure chest holds a single Adamantite. The other chests on that path hold Flame Scroll II and Kumobashiri, so check them all rather than stopping at the first one.

The other two pieces are not in chests you stumble on. At the Oblivion Palace, in the Kingdom of Grandshelt, the Tablet Shard collector hands out a reward at each shard total, and two of those rewards are Adamantite: one at 80 Tablet Shards and one at 89. Every shard spot and the full reward list are in our Tablet Shard locations guide, and the Tablet Shards and the Oblivion Palace princess section explains the hand-in.

On the Rugged Mountain Path, open every chest you pass, since the Adamantite chest looks like any other treasure chest.

Buying Adamantite from the Merchant Ship

The Merchant Ship never docks. It sails the seas and trades only with airships it runs into, so you need an airship to reach it. The in-game bulletin board article “A Merchant Ship, A Chance Encounter” covers this, and in Gaberada, the Undertown, a townsperson describes “a very particular merchant ship that sails the seas, appearing only when they have acquired some rare oddity to sell.”

The Kingdom of Grandshelt world map. The Merchant Ship is met out on the seas, not at a port.

When your airship meets it, the prompt reads “Talk to Merchant Ship”. The merchant sells one item at a time (“We’ll be sailin’ n’ sellin’ but one shiny trinket”), and Adamantite is one of his offers (“Behold, adamantite! Yers for 35,000 gil!”). Adamantite and the Ancient Cloak are on sale from Chapter 6, the Ancient Tome and the Magicite Cryst from Chapter 7, and the High-Power Generator from Chapter 8. The full stock is in our Merchant Ship guide.

  • Adamantite: 35,000 gil (from Chapter 6)
  • Ancient Cloak: 40,000 gil (from Chapter 6)
  • Ancient Tome: 45,000 gil (from Chapter 7)
  • Magicite Cryst: 50,000 gil (from Chapter 7)
  • High-Power Generator: 60,000 gil (from Chapter 8)

Carry at least 35,000 gil when you go looking for the ship. If you’re short, the merchant answers “Avast! Ye don’t have enough gil!”

Adamantite from Colosseum Rank Battles

Three Colosseum Rank Battles give one Adamantite each as their first-time reward. The Colosseum is in Grandshelt, the Royal Capital, and its battles are grouped into leagues.

Rank BattleLeagueRecommended levelFirst-time reward
Fledgling Battle 2Fledgling League27Adamantite x1
Brawler Battle 2Brawler League41Adamantite x1
Brawler Battle 3Brawler League43Adamantite x1

The reward comes with the first win only, so each of these battles gives one Adamantite. Every league, battle and prize is covered in our Colosseum guide.

Adamantite from a Mysidia Radar hidden treasure

One of the 13 hidden treasures the Mysidia Radar can find is an Adamantite. You scan with the radar from the airship, follow Lid’s direction hints and scan again on top of the spot to pull the treasure up. How the radar is upgraded for treasure hunting and the other 12 rewards are in our Mysidia Radar hidden treasures guide.

Turning Adamantite into weapons with Aileen

In Dilmagia, Aileen serves as the rebels’ weaponsmith. Rain wants her to make weapons for him and his friends, but she first wants to watch the party fight.

Take the side quest and gather information on Aileen in Dilmagia, the Rebel Hideout and the desert town in Grandshelt.
Find her at the shipyard in Dilmagia. Have Rain answer her questions.
Talk to her again with Adamantite in your Valuables. She tells you “I can make some nice weapons for you, but I’ll need some adamantite.” and explains “Adamantite is an extremely precious metal. Weapons crafted from it gain unique abilities.”
At her question, “who should I make a weapon for?”, choose a party member. She’ll forge a single weapon for that character.

You’ll know it worked when she says “It’s done! And thanks to the pristine quality of the adamantite, it came out perfectly.” If you still hold more Adamantite she follows up with “Who else should I make a weapon for?”; if you’re out, she tells you to “just bring me more adamantite.” Her list includes Rain, Lasswell, Fina, Lid, Nichol, Jake and Sakura, all among the game’s party members.
