Final Fantasy Resonance features Ramuh among its nine Espers. An optional event in Chapter 2 lets you obtain him. On Mt. Thunderclap, he poses a riddle about lightning, and the correct response triggers a battle. A wrong response won’t bar you from trying again.
Quick answer: Choose “It’s terrifying”. Either of the remaining choices lets you try the question again. The right response triggers a battle with Ramuh; defeat him to obtain the Esper Ramuh.
Where to find Ramuh
Ramuh is found in Dilmagia during Chapter 2, although no main story objective directs you to him. The chapter’s Dilmagia story includes “Cross over Mt. Thunderclap” and “Visit Borin at the Dwarven Forge”; both objectives take you very near his location. For the rest of the chapter, see the walkthrough.
A townsperson in Dilmagia gives you the hint. They mention “There’s an old riddle passed down about the lightning on the mountain…” and ask “the peals that resound from Mt. Thunderclap—are they the cries of nature, or the echoes of judgment?” They also say their Granny saw “some huge figure on the hidden path on Mt. Thunderclap” and that “there’s an entrance close to the Dwarven Forge.”

The event line, “I sense a presence here… it’ll only talk to the other Fina”, suggests Ramuh probably only appears when the other Fina accompanies you. If he does not show up on the hidden path, come back with the other Fina in your party.
Ramuh’s question and all three answers
Ramuh repeats the riddle about the peals of Mt. Thunderclap. Then he asks: “Now tell me—what does the lightning that hails from the mountain mean to you?”

| Answer | Ramuh’s reply | Result |
|---|---|---|
| It’s beautiful | “Beauty, after all, is superficial. You fail to understand lightning’s true nature.” “I shall give you another chance.” | Wrong, you get another try |
| It’s terrifying | Rain asks why Ramuh calls down lightning to keep people away. Ramuh answers, “Very well…” then says, “But first, ready your weapons.” He follows with, “By trial of lightning, I shall judge you all!” | Correct, the Ramuh fight starts |
| It’s justice itself | “Is your concept of justice so fleeting?” “I admit, I’m disappointed. Have you no better answers?” | Wrong, you get another try |
A wrong answer gives you another try. Ramuh asks again, and you can pick “It’s terrifying” the next time.

The Ramuh fight
Ramuh is a Lv 20 boss. He is weak to Earth, and Lightning is nullified, so Lightning attacks do nothing to him.

The first battle is not the end. Ramuh says “’twas but a warm-up!” and a second duel starts right away. Plan for two fights back to back, and top up HP and MP before you give your answer. After the second duel, he says “Fina, I bestow upon you my power.” This means Ramuh has joined you as an Esper.
Tips for the Ramuh fight
- Bring Black Magic Earth spells: Stone (5 MP), Stonera (15 MP) and Stonega (44 MP), which “Deal Earth magic damage.”
- Stone Blade, Stonera Blade and Stonega Blade are Earth Spellblade skills that “Deal Earth physical damage to an enemy.”
- If you already have Titan, his Esper skill Gaia’s Wrath (28 MP) will “Deal Earth magic damage to all enemies.”
- Lightning attacks have no effect. Thunder, Thundara, Thundaga, Thunder Blade, and all other Lightning skills are nullified.
- Hitting his Earth weakness helps you stagger him.
