Quick answer: Wan Jun, the Coppermaul fights in the yard behind the chained barricade next to the Beneath the Watchtower bell in the Mandate Encampment. He swings and slams a huge melon-headed mace, charges and throws up dust clouds.
Wan Jun at a glance
The health bar reads “Wan Jun, the Coppermaul”. He is a huge, pale, heavy-set brute with his face wrapped in bandages, carrying a long mace topped by a gold head shaped like a melon.
The dusty arena sits in the Mandate Encampment beneath a broad stone staircase leading to a wooden gatehouse. Stake palisades and plank fences enclose the yard.
Nearest bell: Beneath the Watchtower (Phantom Blade Zero bells).
His attacks are heavy and slow to start: wide mace swings, overhead slams, a running charge, body crashes, rolling tackles and dust clouds.
In our run, he sat down several times during the fight, and his skin turned grey and cracked like stone while he sat.

In our run, a pack of Faceless soldiers stood around the barricade: Faceless Swordsmen, Faceless Spearmen, Heavy Crossbowmen and a mounted Faceless Lancer.

In our run, after a death Soul came back at the Beneath the Watchtower bell, and the barricade stayed open, so the yard was a short walk through the gap.

Wan Jun’s attacks
Mace swing
At close range, he arcs the melon-headed mace across his body in a broad sideways sweep.

Overhead slam
With both hands, he hoists the mace above his head, then drives it down vertically.

Running charge
From the far side of the yard, he charges directly at Soul with his mace held high.

Body crash
He launches himself forward and hits the ground hard, scattering rocks and dirt.

Rolling tackle
His massive frame rolls across the yard in Soul’s direction.

Dust cloud
The impact of a slam sends up dense dust, obscuring him and filling the yard as sparks streak through the cloud.

Red flash
A red flash glints across his head before some attacks. In our run, a spinning lunge came right after it.

Stone skin
He sits down on the ground and his skin turns grey and cracked like stone. In our run, Soul kept striking him while he sat, and he got back up after several seconds.

How the fight went in our run
In our run on Pathbreaker, the first attempt lasted well under a minute and barely marked his bar.
In our run on Wayfarer, the attempt lasted about seven and a half minutes, and about half of his bar was left when Soul went down.
In our run, he went into the stone skin pose several times over the Wayfarer attempt.
Tips for the Wan Jun fight
Rest at the Beneath the Watchtower bell before going in. In our run, a death returned Soul there and the barricade stayed open.
Get to the barricade and activate its prompt immediately, before the Faceless soldiers draw near.
Watch his head for the red flash before an attack; the parry and dodge guide covers the timing.
The running charge, body crash and rolling tackle each travel a long distance, so retreating straight backward still leaves Soul within their reach.
In our run, the moments he sat in the stone skin pose were the longest openings Soul got for strikes.
If the fight is too hard, you can change the difficulty from the System menu and apply it with the “Apply changes to settings?” Confirm prompt. Each option is explained under difficulty modes.
Wan Jun rewards
In our run, the Bashpole card appeared right after the fight: a Destructive Phantom Edge with Damage 221 and Guard Break 237.

Its card reads “A melon-shaped hammerhead, capable of shattering stone, cracking the earth, and crushing enemies with ground-shaking force.”
According to the card, holding Ctrl sends Bashpole spinning through broad sweeps; release it to end with a ground-shaking slam, consuming one charge. The Groundbreaker description says that, once acquired, Bashpole can break the wooden planks over sealed ground even when unequipped.
In our run, a Bashpole Exploration Ability card followed, saying the Bashpole can smash through weakened floors even when not equipped.

In our run, the Main Encampment Gate bell appeared on the plank walkway beside the yard after the fight.
