Quick answer: Yubi, No. 21 Swordfighter Puppet fights in the training yard by the Training Grounds Depths bell in the Mandate Encampment. She mixes lightning thrusts, teal spectral copies, spinning wind rings and rings of sparks.
Yubi at a glance
Her health bar is labeled “Yubi, No. 21 Swordfighter Puppet”. Yubi is a puppet swordswoman dressed in pale lilac robes. In her opening scene, she carries a pair of swords: one shrouded in teal light, the other in gold.
Set in the Mandate Encampment’s Training Grounds Depths, the arena occupies a practice yard. Firm red soil and brittle grass cover the ground; archery targets and weapon racks stand among a stake-built wooden barrier and tall plank fences. A pavilion hall sits beneath a gold plaque at one end.
Nearest bell: Training Grounds Depths (Phantom Blade Zero bells).
Her attacks mix wind and lightning: lightning thrusts, see-through teal copies of herself, teal mist, spinning rings and rings of sparks on the ground.
In our run on Wayfarer, a dust storm with orange lightning rolled over the yard in the later part of the fight.

In our run, three other puppets stood still around the yard and never joined the fight.
In our run, after a death Soul came back at the Training Grounds Depths bell, and walking east again started the fight again.
Yubi’s attacks
Lightning thrust
A line of white-gold lightning streaks across a large portion of the yard as she lunges, scattering sparks along its path.

Spectral copy
She summons a translucent teal duplicate that attacks at the same time as her or follows just after her strike.

Teal gust
Stones churn through teal wind and mist as the gust washes over Soul and obscures the yard; she then dashes in from the haze.

Spinning ring
While turning in midair, she sends a broad grey-teal ring skimming horizontally over the ground.

Ring of sparks
Burning gold sparks ignite in a circle on the ground around her.

Long thrust
She thrusts over a long distance, a white-teal beam extending along her blade.

Leaping plunge
Wrapped in a teal duplicate, she leaps and pauses in the air before plunging down onto Soul.

Crescent slashes
She sweeps through two or three broad teal arcs in succession; orange sparks burst where Soul’s blade clashes with them.

Star flash
Before some strikes, a blue-white star flash glints on her blade. In our run, Soul parried several of the strikes that came after this flash, and each parry threw orange sparks.

Storm lightning
In our run on Wayfarer, once the dust storm had rolled in, white lightning bolts came down around Soul while she leapt overhead.

Teal dome
A see-through teal dome flared around her in the middle of a combo while lightning lashed the yard.

Gold crescent wave
During the storm, she threw wide gold-white crescent waves at close range.

Wind blades
A wall of teal wind blades swept across the yard toward Soul.

Gold circle
A flat glowing gold circle appeared on the ground under Soul and burst after a short delay. In our run, Soul was caught standing in it once.
How the fight went in our run
In our run on Pathbreaker, the attempt lasted a little over five minutes and took about a sixth of her bar.
In our run on Wayfarer, the attempt lasted about eleven and a half minutes, and her bar was down to about 30% when Soul went down inside the storm to a spinning ring and a dash after his heals ran out.
In our run, the dust storm appeared only on the Wayfarer attempt, after a large part of her bar was gone.
Tips for the Yubi fight
Rest at the Training Grounds Depths bell before walking in. In our run, a death returned Soul there.
Watch her blade for the blue-white star flash. In our run, the strikes after it were the ones Soul parried; the parry and dodge guide covers the timing.
The lightning thrust and the long thrust both cross a long stretch of the yard, so backing away does not take Soul out of their reach.
When teal mist fills the yard, expect her to dash in out of it.
In the storm, watch the ground under Soul for the gold circle and the sky for lightning bolts.
If the fight is too hard, the difficulty can be changed from the System menu, and the change is applied with the “Apply changes to settings?” Confirm prompt (see difficulty modes).
Yubi rewards
In our run, the Baishan Stormswords card appeared right after the fight: a Dual-Wield weapon with Damage 312 and Status Effects 142.

Its card reads “The Baishan Sect’s sacred treasure, capable of channeling the power of wind and thunder. When both forces converge…”
According to the card, hitting enemies with the Standard Combo fills the Wind Gauge, and a full gauge forms Wind Sword, which raises the Sha-Chi Depletion of those attacks. A Sha-Chi Combo can follow any swing during a Standard Combo, and with enough Sha-Chi it becomes a stronger attack with more damage and Guard Break.
The card ends with the prompt “Equip the new weapon now?”
Other boss fights and their rewards are in all Phantom Blade Zero bosses. Yuding, No.12, Crescent Blade Puppet is another numbered puppet with her own fight (see the Yuding boss fight).
