Quincy Spirit Weapons, the Shinigami Zanpakuto, and Hollow blades explained, with the exact steps to evolve each one.

Your weapon in VV Ultimatum is decided the moment you pick a race. Quincy, Shinigami, and Hollow each run on a completely separate weapon system, so there is no shared pool and no swapping across factions later. What you choose at the start shapes your damage, range, moveset, and the entire upgrade path you will grind toward.

Quick answer: Quincy pick one of eight Spirit Weapons at character creation and later evolve it with the Sanrei Glove. Shinigami build a single Zanpakuto from a Handle, Guard, and Hilt, then grow it through Shikai. Hollow unlock their blades only after evolving into the Vastocar form.

How weapons are tied to your race

Every race in the game handles weapons differently, and that choice is locked in at the start. Once you commit to a faction, you are committed to its weapon system too, so it pays to know what each path asks of you before you click confirm.

Quincy Spirit Weapons

Quincy players choose a Spirit Weapon right at character creation, so you know what you are working with from the first minute. Each one has its own damage, range, attack speed, and moveset, which means two Quincy builds can feel nothing alike in a fight. There are eight slots available, with the following seven currently identified.

RifleRifle

If you are unsure what to pick, the Sword is the safe default. It has no glaring weakness and covers damage, speed, and reach evenly, which makes early Lieutenant missions and first PvP fights far more forgiving. Spear and Longsword lean into range, Greatsword and Hammer trade speed for heavy hits, Club focuses on posture pressure, and Rifle and Rapier reward patient poking at the cost of lower damage.

How to evolve a Quincy Spirit Weapon

Obtain the Sanrei Glove. This item is the gate for the entire evolution path, since it unlocks the ability to meditate.
Meditate and work through the Quincy progression missions. You need to keep meditating while clearing objectives to build your Reiatsu.
Reach Max Reiatsu. Once you hit that threshold, your Spirit Weapon can be upgraded into its Evolved Spirit Weapon, a stronger version of the same weapon you started with.

Shinigami Zanpakuto

Shinigami do not choose from a fixed list. Instead, you build a single signature blade, the Zanpakuto, and grow it alongside your character. Before you can wield it, you have to craft it from three mandatory parts.

  • Handle
  • Guard
  • Hilt

Those parts range from plain stat bonuses to passives that change how you fight, so a Shinigami’s real strength comes from the combination you assemble rather than one fixed weapon. The blade itself appears as one of three base forms.

GreataxeAnother heavy form with wide, hard-hitting swings
KatanaFaster, balanced blade focused on clean strikes

Progression runs through the Shikai system. You unlock stronger stages of your Zanpakuto by meditating and stacking Shikai EXP, so skipping meditation directly stalls your power. Treat it as a routine, not an afterthought, because a Shinigami who does not meditate stays weak while everyone else grows their blade.

Hollow weapons

Hollow players wait the longest for a weapon. You do not get a race-specific blade at the start. It only opens up once you complete the Hollow progression and evolve into the Vastocar form, which turns you into an Arrancar. From that point, the following blades become available.

LanceLance

HammerHammer
Great AxeGreat Axe

Each Hollow blade splits its stats across Damage, Range, and Speed. The Greatsword gives up speed for the biggest hits and extra reach, the Great Axe and Hammer sit close behind as heavy alternatives, and the Katana is the most balanced pick with no bias in any direction. The Lance and Spear pour stats into range, while the Minigun is a glass-cannon option that trades damage for speed and reach at long distance.

Note: If you want to reroll your Hollow weapon, you use the Experimental Hogyoku Shard, which comes from Daily Rewards, Raid Chests, The Hogyoku, or microtransactions.

Which race weapon to choose

Because your weapon is bolted to your race, the smartest move is to pick the faction that matches how you like to fight, then commit to its grind. Quincy give you the clearest starting point since you see your weapon immediately and can lean on the Sword until your Evolved Spirit Weapon comes online. Shinigami reward players who enjoy tuning a build through parts and steady meditation. Hollow ask for patience up front, but hand you a wide blade selection once you reach Vastocar.

You can jump straight in and start experimenting with each race’s weapon path over on the VV ULTIMATUM Roblox page. Whichever faction you settle on, expect meditation, missions, and evolution to be the throughline that turns a starter weapon into an endgame one.
