Elgrove is a Grass-type Pal introduced in the Palworld 1.0 update, listed as No. 81 in the Paldeck. It spawns in the open world during both day and night, so you can catch one without relying on the breeding pen. It carries a broad set of base work skills and a partner skill built around Grass damage.
Quick answer: Catch Elgrove in Wildlife Sanctuary 1 or the Bamboo Groves at any time of day, or hatch it by breeding Venusa with Chikipi, Vixy, or Teafant.

Where to find Elgrove in the wild
Elgrove appears as a wild spawn in Wildlife Sanctuary 1 and around the Bamboo Groves. Both spots produce it during the day and at night, so there is no time window to plan around. It does not spawn inside the World Tree area.
Note: Wildlife Sanctuary 1 is a restricted zone. Capturing Pals there marks you as a wanted criminal with the PIDF, so expect a bounty if you hunt Elgrove inside the sanctuary. If you would rather avoid that, take it from the Bamboo Groves or hatch it instead.
Elgrove can also be hatched from a Large Verdant Egg, giving you a third route that skips both the sanctuary risk and the breeding pen.

Add to Google Preferences →Fire-type counters for catching Elgrove
As a Grass-type, Elgrove takes extra damage from Fire attacks, so a Fire Pal is the fastest way to wear it down before you throw spheres. Jormuntide Ignis, Blazehowl, and Flaracle all give you the type edge. Avoid Water and Ground Pals, since Grass is strong against both and your attacks will barely dent it.
Breeding combos for Elgrove
If you prefer a guaranteed result over hunting, the breeding pen will produce Elgrove from several parent pairs. The three Venusa combinations are the most convenient, because Chikipi, Vixy, and Teafant are all easy to obtain early. Pairing two Elgrove together also works once you have one.
| Parent 1 | Parent 2 |
|---|---|
| Venusa | Chikipi |
| Venusa | Vixy |
| Venusa | Teafant |
| Jellroy | Shroomer Noct |
| Mozzarina | Nitemary |
| Needoll | Smokie Cryst |
| Solmora Lux | Jolthog |
Partner skill and work suitability
Elgrove’s partner skill, Mother Nature’s Menace, switches your attack type to Grass and raises your Attack when active. That makes it a strong support pick when you are fighting Water or Ground enemies, since you can exploit their weakness directly.
Back at base, Elgrove doubles as a solid worker. It covers five job types, which makes it useful on farms and logging setups.
- Planting – Level 3
- Lumbering – Level 3
- Transporting – Level 3
- Gathering – Level 2
- Mining – Level 2
Elgrove is not a rideable Pal, so its value comes from combat support and base work rather than travel. Its base stats sit at 110 HP, 105 Attack, and 105 Defense.
Elgrove active skills
Elgrove mixes Grass and Ground moves across its level range, and it has two exclusive skills that other Grass Pals do not get. Bull Rush and Raging Bull Rush are its signature charge attacks, with Raging Bull Rush hitting for 650 power at the top end.
| Skill | Type | Power | Cooldown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bog Blast | Ground | 40 | 2s |
| Grass Tornado | Grass | 200 | 12s |
| Bull Rush (Exclusive) | Grass | 250 | 12s |
| Rockburst | Ground | 300 | 16s |
| Circle Vine | Grass | 300 | 16s |
| Crosswind | Grass | 500 | 24s |
| Wind Burst | Grass | 600 | 30s |
| Raging Bull Rush (Exclusive) | Grass | 650 | 30s |
Elgrove drops
Defeating or catching Elgrove yields Horn and Leather, both common crafting materials you will use across a range of recipes. That makes farming it worthwhile even outside of breeding projects.
Between its free wild spawns, easy Venusa breeding pairs, and a partner skill that converts your damage to Grass, Elgrove is an approachable mid-game pickup that pulls double duty as a base worker and a combat helper against Water and Ground foes.
