Where to find the Shroud mushroom stalks, how to harvest the flakes, and everything they craft.

Harvest Brittle Shroud Flakes by chopping the tall Shroud mushroom stalks with an axe in the Shroud of the Kindlewastes; the flakes go directly into your bag. This level 25 Common crafting material has a stack limit of 250.

Quick answer: Use fast travel to reach the Kindlewastes Ancient Spire, enter the Shroud, then swing an axe at its slender mushroom stalks. A stalk yields 1 or 2 flakes.

Where Brittle Shroud Flakes come from

The flakes grow on the tall, thin Shroud mushroom stalks that sprout inside the Kindlewastes Shroud. These stalks grow almost entirely in that region, with a handful also found in the Nomad Highlands.

How to harvest the flakes

Fast travel to the Ancient Spire in the Kindlewastes.
Walk into the Shroud near the spire. The Shroud timer starts running the moment you step inside, so keep an eye on how long you have before you need to leave.

Look through the mist for the tall, slender Shroud mushroom stalks.
With an axe equipped, bring down a stalk. Breaking it immediately adds the Brittle Shroud Flakes, with the pickup notification appearing on the left side of the screen.

Keep harvesting stalks until you reach your target, and get out of the Shroud while time remains. For tips on staying inside longer, read how the Shroud timer works and how to extend it.

The item itself carries this description in your inventory:

“If these brittle flakes are not handled carefully, they can fall apart and stick to everything, especially clothes. It’s unusable by itself, but can be processed into different materials in crafting.”
