Mine silver in the Albaneve Summits Shroud, smelt bars at the Blast Furnace, and raise the Flame Altar to level 8.

Mine silver in the Albaneve Summits Shroud, smelt bars at the Blast Furnace, and raise the Flame Altar to level 8.

In Enshrouded 1.0, Silver Ore is a level 33 Common resource found in crystal-like clusters inside the Shroud of the Albaneve Summits. Smelt the ore at a Blast Furnace to make Silver Bars; these bars are used in 62 recipes, including the upgrade that takes your Flame Altar from level 7 to 8.

Quick answer: Fast travel to the Albaneve Summits Ancient Spire, glide into the Shroud below it, and mine the pale blue silver clusters with a pickaxe. Then smelt 20 Silver Ore + 40 Coal at a Blast Furnace for 20 Silver Bars.

Where to mine Silver Ore in the Albaneve Summits

Silver Ore comes from mounds of pale blue, crystal-like clusters that sit on the ground inside the Shroud below the Albaneve Summits Ancient Spire. The Shroud timer runs while you are inside, so leave the Shroud before it expires.

Open your map, then use fast travel to reach the Ancient Spire at the Albaneve Summits.

From the spire, glide down toward the Shroud below.

Drop into the Shroud. The Shroud timer starts counting the moment you are inside, so keep an eye on it while you search.

Look for a pale-blue mound of silver clusters, then equip your pickaxe and mine it. Your Silver Ore count increases with each strike, and the pickup notification appears on the screen’s left side.

Continue mining at the next cluster, then get out of the Shroud while time remains on the timer. You can carry up to 250 Silver Ore in a stack.

The raw ore reads: “Silver is a precious metal often found in combination with other minerals. This raw silver ore will need to be processed to become useful.”

Silver Ore from Scavengers

Mining is the main source, but certain Scavengers also drop Silver Ore. Scavenger Scab, Scalper, Butcher, Bully, Scrapshield, Miner, and Pyreblade each have a 15% chance to drop 1-2 Silver Ore. The same 15% chance applies to Scavenger corpses you loot. Most Scavenger corpses are in the Kindlewastes, with more in the Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin.

How to smelt Silver Bars at the Blast Furnace

Once you have picked up Silver Ore, the recipe appears at the furnace. Load 20 Silver Ore and 40 Coal for one batch of 20 Silver Bars, which takes 600 seconds (10 minutes). Silver Bars are a level 33 Common material and stack to 250.

To make the furnace, first get its recipe from the Blacksmith. The materials are 20 Fired Bricks, 1 Bellows, 10 Lump of Clay, 10 Iron Bars, and 30 Sand. You may use any sand, including Fine Sand, Veilwater Basin Sand, or Cinder’s Cradle Sand. Set the furnace up inside a roofed building so it has the shelter it requires to operate.

Make the Bellows before proceeding; the Blacksmith offers its recipe. You’ll need 10 Conifer Logs and 10 Leather, followed by 5 Linen and 1 Iron Bars.

The finished bar reads: “Citizens of Embervale would sometimes invest in silver in the hope it would hold its value during a crisis. A crisis did come, but the silver offered little help.”

What Silver Bars are used for

Silver Ore has one use, and that is smelting Silver Bars. The bars themselves go into 62 recipes. Raising the Flame Altar from level 7 to 8 takes 40 Silver Bars, alongside 40 Spark, 40 Obsidian, 40 Mauveine, 40 Wolfsbane, 40 Amethyst, and 1 Fell Dragon Youngling Head.

Turn Silver Bars into Silver Dust using either the Grinding Stones, which take 480 seconds to make 1 Silver Dust from 1 Silver Bars, or the Mill, which does the job in 240 seconds. Albaneve armor gloves use Silver Dust.

Armor and weapons

  • Albaneve chest pieces take 3 Silver Bars each: Mountain’s Shadow, Wolf’s Fang, Brazen Bull, Frostbite Slasher, Alpine Antler, Trailblazer, Hailcaster, Pearlfrost Mentor, and Thaumaturge Chest.
  • Mountain’s Shadow, Wolf’s Fang, and Brazen Bull Boots take 1 each; Mountain’s Shadow Gloves take 1 Silver Bars and 1 Silver Dust.
  • For the Albaneve Summits Bone Key (Collector), gather 1 Silver Bars along with 20 Ectoplasm Gem and 1 Giant Bones.

Building and furniture

  • At the Workbench, combine 1 Silver Bars with 9 Obsidian to craft 100 Obsidian Block.
  • Craft 50 Granite Ornamented Roof Block at the Workbench using 1 Silver Bars and 10 Granite.
  • For a Silver Chest from the Carpenter, provide 3 Silver Bars and 6 Charcoal.
  • The Carpenter makes a Boreal Wood Door from 3 Silver Bars and 5 Conifer Logs.

On the decorative side, Silver Bars feed into the Silver Braziers, Chandelier and Wall Lamp, Granite Stone bathroom pieces, Granite Throne, and the Magnificent Granite Stone Chair and Table at the Carpenter, the Salon Mirrors and silver tableware at the Decoration Workbench, and the Instrument Stand and Holder at the Bard.
