Metal Sheets are a processed crafting material in Enshrouded, described in-game as “Sheets melted out of Metal Scraps to make them more workable and open up options for further processing.” You make Metal Sheets at the Forge, a station tied to the Blacksmith.

What you need before you can make Metal Sheets

Line these up first.

  • The Blacksmith, rescued through the “Find The Sleeping Survivor” quest and given a sheltered spot in your base.
  • Charcoal, produced in a Charcoal Kiln.
  • Metal Scraps, gathered from the world.
  • Stone and Wood Logs for the Forge recipe.

Build the Forge

Rescue the Blacksmith by completing the “Find The Sleeping Survivor” quest. Once he is freed, bring him back and give him a sheltered part of your base.
Set up a Charcoal Kiln and make Charcoal, then collect Metal Scraps. You will need both for the Forge recipe and for smelting the sheets afterward.
At the Blacksmith, craft a Forge using 30 Stone, 10 Metal Scraps, 10 Charcoal, and 12 Wood Logs. Afterward, set up the station at your base.

Craft Metal Sheets at the Forge

Open the Forge and select Metal Sheets from its recipe list. The menu shows the required Metal Scraps and Charcoal for the recipe.

Load the Forge with Metal Scraps and Charcoal, then queue up however many sheets you want. Each sheet consumes 2 Metal Scraps and 2 Charcoal and takes 90 seconds to finish.
Leave it running. The Forge works through the whole queue on its own while you handle other tasks, so you can walk away and come back for the output.

What Metal Sheets are used for

Metal Sheets feed into a wide spread of recipes across several crafters, from storage and base stations to weapons, shields, and grappling gear. The table below lists each use, the crafter who makes it, and how many sheets it takes.

A few of these recipes pair Metal Sheets with other inputs worth noting. The Wooden Chest also wants 5 Wood Planks and 3 Charcoal, while the Medium Chest adds 10 Wood Planks and 8 Nails. Each Grappling Hook anchor needs 1 Copper Bar alongside its sheets, and the Oven takes 20 Fired Bricks and 5 Lump of Clay. On the Hunter side, the Snap Trap uses 5 Metal Scraps and 1 Metal Sheet to make 2, and the Pocket Heater combines 1 Metal Sheet with 1 Leather and 1 Coal. At the Workbench, 1 Metal Sheet and 5 logs produce 100 Metal Blocks for building.
