Renovation sites are damaged structures in Permafrost that you can repair. The map has 27 of them.
Technocrats Colony holds the most, with 5, and the Church has 3. Repairs use the Building Tool: walk up to the blue ghost of a damaged piece while carrying enough materials and use the tool on it. Each ghost shows its cost as owned against required, and repairing raises your Renovating skill. At a site inside a No Build Zone you can only repair, not place pieces of your own. At Hunter's Glade, the cabin on top of the lookout tower is repaired during the quest High Frequency, and its repaired Bed can then be claimed as a respawn point.
