Quick answer: Formless Divine Mirror is in a chest in Pangzhen, near the Back Hill Pavilion bell. Heavy Attack hits build temporary Remnant Spark that Ranged-type Phantom Edges spend first.

Where to find Formless Divine Mirror

Head to the Back Hill Pavilion bell in Pangzhen and rest there. If you die on the way to the chest, you respawn close by instead of somewhere far off.
Open the Pangzhen interactive map and find the Formless Divine Mirror pin. Click the pin to see its details.
Go to the marked spot near the bell and open the chest.

You have three accessory slots open from the start, so there is room for the Mirror right away. For every other accessory, with effects and locations, check the full Phantom Blade Zero accessories list.

Formless Divine Mirror item card and effect

The item card lists the Mirror as type “Support” with this effect:

“Any [Heavy Attack] attack that hits an enemy builds temporary Remnant Spark. Ranged-type Phantom Edges consume temporary Remnant Spark first.”

Its description reads:

“The Formless Mirror sees through illusion. Spares you the effort, but dulls your edge… Worth it or not? That’s for you to decide, youngster!”

How to polish Formless Divine Mirror

Polishing happens at Jewel. Each level costs Remnant Dust plus one crafting material. Polishing raises only the numbers unless the polish line says otherwise, and for the Mirror both levels add a damage bonus to Ranged-type Phantom Edges.

PolishRemnant DustMaterialRanged Edge bonus
Polish 114,400Tainted Crystal Shard5% more damage
Polish 221,600Refined Indigo Crystal10% more damage

Polish 1 changes the effect to: “Any [Heavy Attack] attack that hits an enemy builds temporary Remnant Spark. Ranged-type Phantom Edges consume temporary Remnant Spark first and deal 5% more damage.” Quick Hand Zhang sells the Tainted Crystal Shard for 7,440 Remnant Dust, and you can also find a Tainted Crystal Shard in the world.

Polish 2 changes it to: “Any [Heavy Attack] attack that hits an enemy builds temporary Remnant Spark. Ranged-type Phantom Edges consume temporary Remnant Spark first and deal 10% more damage.” Quick Hand Zhang sells the Refined Indigo Crystal for 9,920 Remnant Dust at his Village of Lu, Pangzhen, Meigu Lake and Mirage Estate hideouts, and a Refined Indigo Crystal can also be found in Mirrorwood Depths in the Crimson Forest.

What Formless Divine Mirror is good for

The Mirror turns your heavy hits into fuel for ranged skills. In practice, a Ranged Phantom Edge fires more often. If you need a refresher on the resource itself, read up on how Remnant Spark works and how to restore it.

Check the weapons and Phantom Edges list to see which Phantom Edges are Ranged. The Mountain of Imprisonment contains Crude Radiant Heart, which provides the equivalent benefit to Martial-type Phantom Edges.
