A vivid red glint appears on his blade just before he unleashes a rapid strike.

How the fight went in our run
In our run on Pathbreaker, the attempt lasted under twenty seconds and barely marked his bar.
In our run on Wayfarer, the attempt lasted under a minute and his bar dropped only a little.
In our run, the soldiers did most of the damage to Soul in both attempts.
Tips for the Grief-Stricken Jin fight
Before heading up the shore, ring the Village of Lu Shallows Dock bell and rest there. In our run, a death returned Soul there.
Stay in motion to stop the soldiers from closing around Soul, and look out for the red wave that ushers another row of them forward.
A red flare on his blade signals the quick strike, so be ready to evade it. The parry and dodge guide covers the timing.
If the fight is too hard, you can change the difficulty from the System menu, and the change is applied with the “Apply changes to settings?” Confirm prompt. Each option is explained in the difficulty modes breakdown.
Grief-Stricken Jin rewards
