Where to Find the Well of the Three Puppets Bell in Phantom Blade Zero (Village of Lu)

Quick answer: The Well of the Three Puppets bell is in the Village of Lu, just past Zhuo Bi, the Gatekeeper‘s arena. Climb the stone steps out of the arena, go round the red-lantern gate to its far side, then follow the village path and plank walkway.

Phantom Blade Zero places this bell in Chapter 1, and you can reach it right after the Zhuo Bi fight. It is a short, quiet walk. No enemies attack along this route on PATHBREAKER, the default difficulty.

The bell is in the village homes on the far side of the walled arena, near Zhuo Bi, the Gatekeeper. Find a red-sashed wooden post beside a dry-stone wall and stone stairs, with a red-lantern-decorated house nearby. Red candles and offerings sit at the post’s foot.

How to reach the bell from Zhuo Bi’s arena

When the Zhuo Bi fight ends, the arena’s fog doors open. Head out through the door where a flight of stone steps climbs out of the yard, and walk up the steps.

Circle around the gate beside the dry-stone wall and grassy slope until you reach the opposite side. The gate opens there. Go through the red-lit gatehouse.

Past the gate, stay on the stone village path as it runs between the houses. Keep heading toward the wooden gate arch ahead of you.

The path turns into a plank walkway with a railing and red rope knots dangling from its posts. Follow it to the end.

The bell post appears beside the stone wall and stairs, roughly 30 metres beyond the walkway. Approach it.

Beside the bell is an old well bound in red threads, with clay jars next to it. Farther into the village, the next bell is the Temple of Blue Fireflies, across a stone bridge.

What ringing the Well of the Three Puppets bell unlocks

After you ring the bell, it appears on the Village of Lu map. The display changes to “Map Completion : 12%” and marks “Well of the Three Puppets”, confirming its registration.

Open the bell menu to find “Well of the Three Puppets” in its bottom-left corner. The menu offers six options:

After activation, the bell becomes a Traverse point, and its menu lets you save. For locations beyond Zhuo Bi’s arena, it provides a nearer return point than Young Master Lan’s Hideout.

Quest markers visible from the bell

At this bell, open the Quests tab to find the story quest HEARTLESS REMNANTS, shown with a gold icon. Its objective is “Find the Smuggler’s Tunnel in the Village of Lu”. Select it, then press Space to track it. This is the Smuggler’s Tunnel that Lan Shaodi seeks to have reopened in his business proposition.

If you hold V for Mind’s Eye at the bell, a purple marker appears about 112 m away, beyond the village houses. That marker belongs to a different story quest, SECRETS AT THE HEART OF THE LAKE.
