Every few weeks a new “infinite speed” trick makes the rounds for Steal An Egg, usually involving a Wi-Fi cable, a Robux purchase prompt, or a frozen Roblox window. Tested end to end, almost none of them add a single point to your speed stat. What does move the number is unglamorous and entirely in-game.
Quick answer: No glitch grants free or infinite speed. Speed only climbs through treadmill upgrades bought in the Speed Shop, stacked with Boss Shop multipliers like the 1.25x Speed booster and the 2x Treadmill Booster.

The pattern is consistent. Anything that tries to make the server hand you currency or stats while you are disconnected fails, because the stat is written server-side. Anything that manipulates where a boss or your own character is standing tends to stick, because it is just physics and pathing.
How speed actually increases: treadmill and multipliers
Boss health scales with server population. In a low-player server the Abyss Overlord can spawn with roughly 7,000 HP and five HP crystals, which turns token farming into a few minutes of work instead of a long fight.
Wi-Fi disconnect glitch: what it does and does not do
The disconnect trick has two very different reputations, and only one of them survives testing.
Free speed from a cut connection: does not work
Standing on an active treadmill and killing your internet does not bank speed while you are offline. The session drops to the Error Code: 277 Disconnected screen, and reconnecting puts you back exactly where your stat was.
The Robux version fares no better. Opening the Shop’s Speed section, triggering the buy prompt for +150K Speed at 79 Robux, and then cutting the connection mid-transaction produces the same disconnect dialog. On reconnect the counter sits unchanged at 28.2B, with no free stat and no credited purchase.
The client freeze variant, where you hold the Roblox window’s title bar while jumping and buying a booster at the same time, also fails to hand over a free multiplier.
Staying in a zone overnight: works with tight timing
This is the one legitimate use for the disconnect. Normally the night reset teleports you out of a far zone and back to spawn. If you disconnect your Wi-Fi right before the night countdown reaches zero and reconnect four to five seconds after the sun comes back up, you stay put instead of being sent home.
The window is narrow. Staying offline even half a second too long throws the Error Code 277 prompt and boots you from the session entirely.
Boss trap glitches for safe egg stealing
The reliable exploits are all the same idea. Steal an egg, lead the guardian to a hard barrier or corner, drop the egg there, and the boss either wedges into geometry or gets thrown clear of its patrol area. With the guardian stuck, the nest is free to loot repeatedly.
Oni Tiger in Cherry Blossom
Grab an egg in Cherry Blossom and back toward the Titan Temple barrier, then drop it in the corner. The Oni Tiger pins itself behind the invisible wall and stays there. The same guardian can also be lured behind the Sakura Incubator during the Great Bloom event and wedged permanently, which makes farming Sakura Crystals in that zone risk-free. Note that the incubator itself only unlocks after you hatch a Crane pet from the egg in the Sakura Blossom zone.
Cosmic boss fling
Pull an egg from the Cosmic boss area and retreat to the same Titan Temple wall corner. Dropping the egg there launches the boss into the sky, where it disappears completely rather than returning to its nest.
Gorilla King on the temple roof
This one needs setup. Equip the Super Tall avatar package at maximum height scaling, shift-lock against the angled notch in the wall beside Titan Temple, and climb onto the temple roof. Take an egg from the gorilla zone, carry it to the top, and drop it there. The Gorilla King snags on the temple structure and cannot get back down.
The roof route is the version that holds. Trying to wedge the Gorilla King into the wall corner directly behind the egg nests does not work, no matter how many attempts you make.
Safe Zone wall head start
Walk into the Safe Zone wall while holding the forward key, and time it so the night timer hits 0s while you are still pushing against it. You clip past the starting line and land in the Desert zone, several seconds ahead of everyone else in the server.
Do not confuse this with the Prehistoric wall trick that claims to skip the night teleport. Jumping into that wall does not keep you in the zone; the game sends you back to base as normal.
Server tricks that beat speed stacking
If the goal is high-tier eggs rather than a bigger number on your speed counter, the server browser does more for you than any multiplier.
- Sort the Steal An Egg server list by Fewest Players and join servers holding two to four people.
- Fill the remaining slots with alt accounts to approximate a private server.
- Server hop when you spot a rare egg, since variants such as the Secret Tralaledon Egg and Eternal Ice Dragon Egg appear in larger sizes on other servers.
- Rejoin after a Divine ArchAngel notification to contest the spawn on a fresh server.
- On a second account, line bear traps down the centre path near the Safe Zone to stop fast runners carrying rare eggs.
Empty servers are also where an Eternal Lava Dragon Egg can be walked out uncontested, with no competition and a weakened boss to deal with.
How to confirm a method worked
For anything speed-related, the only proof is your stat counter before and after. If the number is identical on reconnect, nothing was credited, and that is the expected outcome for every disconnect and window-freeze attempt. Multipliers, by contrast, show up as active boosts in the Boss Shop and as a visibly faster run across zones.
For boss traps, the confirmation is behavioural. A successful trap leaves the guardian motionless against a barrier, stuck on the temple structure, or gone from the map entirely after being flung, and you can return to the nest repeatedly without being chased. If the boss walks back to its nest and resumes patrolling, the drop point was wrong and you should reposition against a harder corner before trying again.
