The Church Tower is the first Scouting Tower most players reach in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it sits in the same building where the Blood Mass took place during the prologue. Getting to the top takes two teleports and about thirty seconds, but only if you show up at the right time of day with the right powers unlocked.

Quick answer: Go to the church in Eagles’ Glen at night, Shadowstep onto the lower roof, Shadowstep a second time to the peak of the tower, then hold the investigate prompt on every highlighted point in the distance until Coen says he can’t find anything else.

Requirements before you climb the Church Tower

Scouting Towers are night-only content. Coen needs to be in vampire form to use his Vrakhir traversal powers, so a daytime visit leaves you standing at the base of the church with no way up. The tower icon on the world map carries a moon symbol for exactly this reason.

You also need the traversal abilities themselves, which means finishing the prologue first. After that, the map opens up and you can tackle towers in any order.

AbilityWhat it does
ShadowstepTeleports Coen across gaps to a spot you aim at. This is the ability that does all the work on the Church Tower.
PlaneshiftLets Coen walk up flat walls and along ceilings. Drains stamina while active.
ClawrideSlides down walls without spending stamina, which is the fastest way back to the ground.

Note: Climbing a Scouting Tower does not push the clock forward. With the “Rescue your family” timer counting down in the background, this is one of the few activities you can do freely, and you can clear several towers in a single night.

Church Tower location in Eagles’ Glen

Open the world map and look at the eastern side of Eagles’ Glen. The church is the tall stone building in Coen’s home village, the same one from the prologue, and it appears on the map with the standard Scouting Tower marker. Track it if you want a waypoint to follow on the way in.

Approach on foot and stop somewhere near the base with a clear view of the lower roof. Coen will note that the climb should be simple enough, which is your cue that the tower is active.

How to climb to the top of the church

Stand at the foot of the church and hold the Shadowstep input. A targeting reticle appears, and you aim it at where you want Coen to land.
Aim at the lower roof of the church and release to teleport up. This first hop puts you on the sloped section beside the tower, which is the only platform you need as a staging point.
Turn to face the bell tower and use Shadowstep a second time, aiming at the very top of the structure. There is no wall-walking required here, so you do not need to burn stamina on Planeshift.
Once Coen is standing at the peak, an interact prompt appears. Trigger it to start the survey and the camera shifts into the scouting view.

Scouting the area and marking points of interest

The survey works like a slow pan across the valley. Small white dots mark the spots worth inspecting, and moving your camera onto one brings up an investigate prompt. Confirm it, and that location gets logged.

Coen comments on most of what he picks out, and those lines double as a checklist. From the church he points out Anca’s hut, what is left of his home, and the peat bogs that carry an unpleasant reputation locally. Work through every dot before you drop back down, because partially surveyed towers leave locations unmarked.

How to confirm the tower is cleared

Three things tell you the survey is finished. Coen says he doesn’t think he’ll find anything else from up there, the game awards 100 XP, and the camera hands control back to you on the roof.

Open the map straight afterwards and you’ll see fresh question mark icons across the surrounding countryside, plus named entries such as Coen’s House. Those question marks are unvisited points of interest, and each one can be tracked from the map screen like any other objective.

If the interact prompt never shows up at the top, the usual cause is daylight. Come back after dark so the vampiric powers are available. If a marker stays hidden on the map afterwards, you likely skipped one of the white dots during the pan, and returning to the peak lets you finish the remaining inspections.

Loot at the Church Tower

Before you leave, sweep the containers in and around the church. The Church Tower holds the Aether Flow Manual, one of the skill manuals that most Scouting Towers hide alongside the survey point. Manuals teach new abilities outright, so they are worth the extra minute of searching.

This is one of 11 Scouting Towers scattered across Vale Sangora, and it’s the gentlest of the set. Later towers ask for Planeshift wall runs, stamina management, and the occasional fight on the way in, so treat the church as the place to get comfortable with Shadowstep before heading further out. Clawride handles the trip down when you’re done.
