Fisch: How to Spawn the Tropical Squall Event on Skycrest

Two working methods for triggering the Tropical Squall weather in Roblox Fisch, plus what it unlocks on Skycrest.

Two working methods for triggering the Tropical Squall weather in Roblox Fisch, plus what it unlocks on Skycrest.

The Tropical Squall is the weather event that gates a large chunk of the Skycrest content in Fisch. Several idol trials, the Idol Taiga taming process, and the Abaia hunt all require the squall to be active, and it does not roll in on a predictable schedule. There are two reliable ways to force it, and one of them is free.

Quick answer: Buy a Tropical Squall Totem from Kaito’s Weekly Shop on Skycrest for 100,000 C$ and use it, or sacrifice fish at the Five Spirits altar until the fire bar hits 100%, then burn Sundial Totems to cycle the day/night phase until the squall rolls in.

What the Tropical Squall unlocks

The squall is not just a luck buff. It is the state the island has to be in before certain systems will respond to you at all, which is why so many Skycrest quests stall out without it.

ContentWhy the squall matters
Extreme idol trialsRequired to attempt the trials that reward the Titanic Charm
Idol Taiga companionThe companion can only be tamed while a Tropical Squall is active
Fire of SpiritsFish sacrifices expand the flame during the squall, raising luck and weather spawn rates in the area
Abaia HuntEnough sacrifices at the Fire of Spirits eventually summon the hunt
Skycrest side questsMultiple quests specify catches made during a Tropical Squall

Method 1: Buy a Tropical Squall Totem from Kaito’s Weekly Shop

This is the instant option. The totem summons the weather on demand, but stock is rotational and capped, so you cannot rely on it as your only source.

Travel to Skycrest, the floating island added with the Fischfest expansion. A glider or GPS marker makes the trip across the water much faster than swimming.

Find Kaito’s Weekly Shop on the island and open the vendor menu. The shop lists each item with its price, its stock chance for the current rotation, and a weekly purchase limit.

Buy the Tropical Squall Totem for 100,000 C$. You are limited to two per week, and the item only appears in the rotation about 11.2% of the time, so check back after each weekly reset if it is missing.
Equip the totem and use it. The weather changes immediately and the squall visuals kick in across the island, which is your confirmation that it worked.

Note: the two-per-week cap is the real bottleneck here. Most players burn both totems on quest requirements within a day and then need the second method to keep going.

Method 2: Sacrifice fish at the Five Spirits altar, then cycle time

The altar route costs nothing but fish and time, and it has no weekly cap. It is a chance-based trigger rather than a guaranteed one, so expect to run the cycle more than once.

Head to the Five Spirits area on Skycrest, the fire pit where offerings are made. This is the same flame used to expand luck during an active squall.

Offer caught fish to the altar until the progress bar reads 100%. Rarer fish push the bar further per offering, so dumping a stack of low-rarity catches will take noticeably longer than feeding a few good ones.
With the bar sitting at 100%, use a Sundial Totem to skip the day/night phase. Weather is rolled at the start of each new cycle, so every skip is a fresh chance for the squall to be selected.

Repeat the sundial skip while the bar stays at 100%. Keep going until the squall triggers, then immediately start whatever quest, taming attempt, or trial you were saving it for.

Why the squall fails to trigger

Most failed attempts come down to a handful of specific conditions rather than bad luck.

  • The altar bar is below 100%. Sundial skips will not roll the squall until the flame is fully fed.
  • You already hit the weekly cap on the Tropical Squall Totem. Two purchases per week is the ceiling, and it resets on the shop’s weekly rotation.
  • The totem is not in the current rotation. It has roughly a one in nine chance of appearing, so a shop visit can come up empty.
  • Another weather condition is protected. Totems that directly modify weather are blocked while a weather within their group is protected.
  • You ran out of Sundial Totems mid-attempt. The cycle skip is the reroll, so stock up before starting.

Make the squall count while it is up

Because both methods have a cost, plan the window before you trigger it. If you are chasing the Idol Taiga, have your four firefly variants already collected so you can head straight to the Ancient Idol statues and tame it. If you are working the Fire of Spirits toward the Abaia Hunt, bring a full inventory of fish to sacrifice, since rarer catches expand the flame faster and the boost applies to everyone fishing nearby.

Stacking objectives into a single squall is the difference between clearing Skycrest content in a couple of sessions and grinding altar offerings all week.
