Enshrouded 1.0: How to Get Goo

Goo is a crafting paste in Enshrouded 1.0, described in-game as “A sticky paste used to bind chemical substances.” No creature drops it.

Goo is an Alchemist recipe. One batch of the recipe produces a single Goo from three ingredients.

Get the Alchemist’s Mortar first

The Mortar unlocks both the Bug Dust and Goo recipes, so this has to come before anything else. You retrieve it through the Alchemist quest “The Alchemist’s Mortar”.

Travel to the Alchemist Tower in Lone Thistle. The Mortar is hidden somewhere below the surface, so head for the tower’s basement to find his laboratory.

The laboratory door is locked. Look for the hidden mechanism inside the tower that opens it, then take the Mortar from inside.

Bring the Mortar to your base and set it down. The Alchemist says, “My Mortar, yes!” and unlocks additional recipes. A sheltered home is required for him to use them.

Make Bug Dust from Critter Parts

Bug Dust is another Alchemist recipe tied to the Mortar. The conversion is simple: 1 Critter Parts makes 1 Bug Dust.

Critter Parts drop from Fell Critters inside the Shroud, starting in the Springlands. Crabs and Fell Crabs also drop 1 to 3 each time, and Stingers and Venomous Stingers 2 to 3. Kill a handful of these, then convert the parts at the Alchemist.

Craft Goo at the Alchemist

With Bug Dust ready, gather the other two ingredients. Shroud Mushroom grows beneath the Shroud and is most common in the Revelwood. Springlands Dirt comes from digging the ground anywhere in the Springlands.

At the Alchemist, craft one Goo using 1 Springlands Dirt, 2 Shroud Mushroom, and 1 Bug Dust.

What Goo is used for

Goo feeds into 38 recipes across several crafters. The largest single demand is the Flame Altar upgrade from level 3 to level 4, which needs 15 Goo alongside 15 Corrupted Boar Tusk, 10 Spark, 15 Indigo Plant, 15 Amber, 15 Copper Ore, and 1 Fell Wispwyvern Head.

Blizzard I makes 20 per craft and Shroud Arrow I makes 25. The Medium Magic Chest also needs 1 Medium Chest and 1 Shroud Core, and the Quick Stack Station needs 1 Shroud Core and 5 Revelwood Stone.
