The Youngster Goblin is a FischFright 3 NPC in Fisch, and his short questline is the only way to get the Boglin Branch rod. The rod isn’t sold in the Dutchman Merchant’s shop. You get it as a quest reward, and nearly every objective runs through the same loop. You wait for a goblin to spawn, take its challenge, and finish it. There are two catches. One objective ignores Easy goblins, and the three Boglin parts are low-rate random drops.
Quick answer: Finish three goblin challenges rated Normal or higher, avoiding goblins with green outlines. Afterward, bring the Youngster Goblin 10 Witch’s Ingredients, a Boglin Skull, a Boglin Twig, and Boglin Wraps.
Youngster Goblin quest requirements
The Quest Book lists five objectives, but they really come down to three jobs. Goblin challenges supply everything on the list.

The game tracks the three challenges on its own as you finish them. You have to hand the ingredients and the three Boglin items to the Youngster Goblin in person. Some quest text calls the Twig a Boglin Fang, but it’s the same objective.
The Boglin Skull is a separate item from the Dark Art Skull needed for Halloween rituals. Dark Art Skulls don’t increase the Skull counter, so confirm the item’s name before returning.

How goblin spawns and outline colors work
Goblins move from island to island rather than remaining in a fixed place. When one appears, a message along the bottom of your screen identifies its location—for example, Moosewood. It may disappear within a few minutes, but once you begin its challenge, it remains until you complete it. Keep your boat ready so you can leave when an alert comes in.
- A goblin outlined in green offers Easy challenges only, and those won’t advance the three-challenge objective.
- Any other outline color means Normal or harder challenges. These count.
- Completing a tougher challenge yields a larger amount of Witch’s Ingredients.
- All three items—the Boglin Skull, Twig, and Wraps—may drop at any challenge difficulty.
Challenges vary by goblin. For example, one Hard task asks you to talk to Beatrix three times before you return to the goblin that gave it. Whatever the task is, follow it to the end before you claim the reward.
Fastest route through the Youngster Goblin quest
Only one objective has a difficulty limit, so do it first. Every early run then counts twice, because the ingredients and Boglin drops from those same clears also go toward the rest of the quest.
Beatrix’s Cauldron also takes Witch’s Ingredients in exchange for Hex Energy, and the “Offer All Ingredients” option empties your entire stock. Turn in your 10 to the Youngster Goblin before you feed the cauldron.
Once the 3/3 counter is done, the green-outlined goblins become useful. Easy challenges are quick, and they roll the same Boglin drops, so take whichever goblin is closest instead of waiting for a harder one. Also check your inventory before you start grinding. You may already have picked up ingredients or a Boglin part during your first three challenges.
Boglin Branch reward, stats, and how to confirm completion
When the last Boglin item goes in, a “You have unlocked Boglin Branch!” notification appears. The quest pays out the rod, 800 Treats, and 5,000 XP. That message means the questline is done.
In your inventory, open Fishing Rods and equip the Boglin Branch. After you cast, its stats appear in the sidebar. You can use standard rod enchantments on it, and its fishing minigame bar has a distinct appearance compared with other rods.

The Boglin Branch is listed as available during FischFright 3. Roblox’s event schedule shows Halloween continuing through November 9, 2026, so complete the Youngster Goblin’s checklist before Caustic Hallow and the traveling goblins are gone. Once the rod is in your inventory and the Treats have arrived, there’s nothing more to do for him. Challenges completed afterward still award Witch’s Ingredients, which you can use at Beatrix’s Cauldron.
