Enshrouded 1.0: How to Make Bronze Bars (Copper, Tin and Every Bronze Recipe)

Both Bronze Bars recipes, the Copper and Tin smelting chain, the fuel and stations it needs, and the roughly 120 recipes bronze feeds.

Both Bronze Bars recipes, the Copper and Tin smelting chain, the fuel and stations it needs, and the roughly 120 recipes bronze feeds.

In Enshrouded, you make Bronze Bars by smelting Copper Bars and Tin Bars first, then combining 7 Copper Bars, 3 Tin Bars and 10 Charcoal in the Smelter for 10 Bronze Bars. The Blast Furnace version makes 20 per craft and uses less copper and tin for each bar.

Quick answer: Pick up Copper Ore and Tin Ore, smelt each into bars, then craft 7 Copper Bars + 3 Tin Bars + 10 Charcoal at a Smelter to get 10 Bronze Bars.

Bronze Bars recipe

Bronze Bars are a common material at item level 18, and they stack to 250. The item text reads “A beautiful material known for its warm and bright color. Artisans around the world have turned towards it for centuries, due to its workable characteristics.” Its in-game hint is “Smelter”.

You won’t see the recipe initially. First collect Copper Ore and Tin Ore, then obtain a Smelter to make it appear. The Blast Furnace recipe becomes available by the same method after you acquire a Blast Furnace.

StationIngredientsMakesTime
Smelter7 Copper Bars, 3 Tin Bars, 10 Charcoal10 Bronze Bars240 s
Blast Furnace10 Copper Bars, 4 Tin Bars, 10 Coal20 Bronze Bars240 s

For each bar, the Smelter consumes 0.7 Copper Bars and 0.3 Tin Bars. A Blast Furnace takes 0.5 Copper Bars plus 0.2 Tin Bars per bar; each craft produces twice as many bars and still takes 240 seconds. With a Blast Furnace and Coal, you use about 29% less copper and 33% less tin per Bronze Bar.

Copper Bars and Tin Bars: The two metals bronze needs

Both ingredient metals start as ore. The in-game hint for Copper Ore is “Revelwood”, and its text reads “A common ore needed to create Copper Bars.” The hint for Tin Ore is “Nomad Highlands Shroud”, with the text “An ore which contains traces of tin. Needed to create Tin Bars.”

Blast Furnace20 Copper Ore, 20 Coal20 Copper Bars210 s

Copper Bars carry the text “A rare and valuable metal thanks to its thermal conductivity. It’s often used to create things that require a lot of heat.”

Smelter10 Tin Ore, 10 Charcoal, 2 Wood Acid10 Tin Bars240 s
Blast Furnace15 Tin Ore, 15 Coal, 4 Wood Acid20 Tin Bars240 s

Tin is the step that needs Wood Acid on top of fuel, so make some before you smelt. Tin Bars carry the text “A metal used to create bronze. It can be found in the Nomad Highlands.”

Charcoal, Wood Acid and the smelting stations

Charcoal and Wood Acid both come from the Charcoal Kiln, using logs and dirt. Any of Wood Logs, Hardwood or Palm Wood Logs work, and the dirt can be Springlands, Revelwood or Blackmire Dirt.

  • Charcoal: 12 logs + 3 dirt = 10 Charcoal
  • Wood Acid: 15 logs + 3 dirt = 10 Wood Acid

Wood Acid’s item text reads “This byproduct of the Charcoal Kiln has many useful properties, which can be used in medicine and alchemy.”

Both smelting stations are built at the Blacksmith.

  • Smelter: 50 Fired Bricks + 1 Crucible
  • To craft a Crucible, use 3 Lump of Clay, 3 Springlands Dirt, and 5 Sand; Fine Sand or Veilwater Basin Sand can be used instead of Sand.
  • Fired Bricks: made at the Kiln from 1 Lump of Clay + 1 log each
  • Blast Furnace: 20 Fired Bricks, 1 Bellows, 10 Lump of Clay, 10 Iron Bars, 30 Sand

The Smelter’s text is “Used by a smith to melt and alloy metals.” and the Crucible’s is “Used in a Smelter to melt ores and create alloys.” The Blast Furnace describes itself as “This advanced furnace can create incredible heat! It’s used to smelt higher quality materials.”

How to make Bronze Bars from ore to alloy

Build a Smelter at the Blacksmith. It needs 50 Fired Bricks and a Crucible.
Craft Charcoal and Wood Acid at the Charcoal Kiln. Charcoal goes into every Smelter recipe here, and Wood Acid goes into Tin Bars.
Pick up Copper Ore and Tin Ore. Picking up both ores is what makes the Bronze Bars recipe appear at the Smelter.
Smelt your Copper Ore into Copper Bars. At the Smelter, 10 Copper Ore and 10 Charcoal make 10 Copper Bars.
Smelt your Tin Ore into Tin Bars. At the Smelter, 10 Tin Ore, 10 Charcoal and 2 Wood Acid make 10 Tin Bars.
Craft Bronze Bars at the Smelter with 7 Copper Bars, 3 Tin Bars and 10 Charcoal. After 240 seconds the craft yields 10 Bronze Bars.

What Bronze Bars are used for

Bronze Bars go into about 120 recipes across nine crafters. The numbers below are Bronze Bars per item.

The bronze tools are the obvious first use. The Bronze Pickaxe costs 8 Bronze Bars and the Bronze Axe costs 4, so a single Smelter craft of 10 bars covers the pickaxe, and one more covers the axe with bars to spare.
