In Chapter 2, “Eternal Blue”, of Final Fantasy Resonance, the heavy security mech Epimetheus bars the exit from Mobliz Shipyard. You face it during the “Escape before time runs out” objective, with the 15-minute countdown still ticking throughout the battle. That means you must manage the boss and the clock at once.
Quick answer: At level 16, Epimetheus has 3,645 HP and takes extra damage from Thunder. Cast Thunder and throw Lightning Scrolls each turn; try to reach the fight with roughly 4 minutes remaining, since the battle ends when the timer hits 00:00.
It fights alongside two Security Eyes, uses Paralysis and Poison attacks, and is hard to stagger. A win pays 592 EXP, 708 Gil (+188 Overkill Bonus) and 52 MRP (+13 Stagger Finish Bonus). Adrastea attacks straight after, with no chance to save in between. On Normal, a party of Rain, Lasswell and Fina at level 17 and Lid at level 16 can win this fight.
| Stat | Epimetheus | Security Eye (x2) |
|---|---|---|
| Level | 16 | 14 |
| HP | 3,645 | 260 each |
| Weak to | Thunder | Thunder |
| Resists | None | None |
| Traits | Hard to stagger; Paralysis and Poison attacks | Easily staggered; Blind attacks |
| Drop | Lightning Scroll I | Potion (rare Eye Drops) |
Escape is unavailable during this battle. One victory’s Battle Result showed 592 EXP, 708 Gil with an Overkill Bonus of +188, and 52 MRP with a Stagger Finish Bonus of +13; no item was awarded.
Where you fight Epimetheus
The fight happens partway through the escape. First you clear the lever room and restore power to the east lift. Then you reach the entrance hall and find it packed with security mechs (“Ack! Security mechs-lots of them!”). Head back north into the ground-floor hall. Lid notes, “Can’t go the way we came… There must be another way…”, and a Security Mech calls out “ALERT. INTRUDERS DETECTED.”

The fight starts immediately against Epimetheus and two Security Eyes. You must defeat them because Escape is greyed out. For the complete route and an explanation of the timer, see the Mobliz Shipyard escape guide.

Add to Google Preferences →Epimetheus stats and weakness
Epimetheus is level 16 with 3,645 HP. It is weak to Thunder and has no element it halves, nullifies or absorbs. Its description reads “Powerful and difficult to stagger, but rewards handsomely when defeated.” Its attacks can inflict Paralysis and Poison.
The two Security Eyes are level 14 with 260 HP each. They are also weak to Thunder, stagger easily, and use Blind attacks.
Epimetheus attacks
In our fight Epimetheus used two attacks, each on one party member: Machine Gun (60 to 207 damage) and Flame Thrower (308). The Security Eyes used Laser (111 to 194 on one target) and Flash Bomb, which hit the whole party for 19 to 37 each. None of its Paralysis or Poison landed on us, but carry the cures anyway.
How to beat Epimetheus

Epimetheus rewards
After victory, the Battle Result screen displays your rewards: 592 EXP, 708 Gil with an Overkill Bonus of +188, and 52 MRP with a Stagger Finish Bonus of +13.

What comes after Epimetheus
Rain asks, “But…we did get to the elevator?” The party rides the elevator at the hall’s east end down to the cargo train in the tunnel, where Adrastea attacks immediately. Escape is greyed out in that battle as well, and you cannot save between these encounters.
Adrastea has 25,000 HP at level 16 and is vulnerable to both Thunder and Water. If the party is defeated, choosing Retry starts that encounter over with HP and MP restored to full. Find battle advice in the how to beat Adrastea guide. For the rest of the area, see the Mobliz Shipyard walkthrough; the bosses list and full walkthrough cover what follows.
