How to start A Brother Once More
Niu, the shopkeeper, brings up the tale before it begins. You can find him roughly 30 m from the Myst’s Tavern bell.
The tale starts at Xiu’s memory flower in Pangzhen. It sits about 24 m from the Huang Manor Crossroads bell, and you can find that bell on the bell locations map. Xiu is the daughter of the wealthy merchant Huang. Touch the flower to get the memory “I. THE SEVERED FINGER”. Getting that memory means the tale has started.

Here is the text on the memory flower card:
“After their mother died, their father took every word of his concubine to heart. No matter how often the children spoke, he would not hear a word.”
The quest log lists two objectives:
- “Learn the whereabouts of Xiu’s brother, Jin”
- “Xiu’s brother Jin wanders the shallows near Village of Lu by Meigu Lake”
Defeat Grief-Stricken Jin
Jin, Xiu’s brother, is at Meigu Lake. Go to the Village of Lu Shallows Dock bell. The boss Grief-Stricken Jin waits about 50 m from it. He is listed with the game’s other bosses. You need to defeat him to move the tale forward.

Jin’s memory flower and the Rouge Box
Jin’s memory flower is about 29 m from the Village of Lu Shallows Dock bell. It stays shut until Jin is defeated. After the fight, touch it to get these rewards:
- The memory “II. KINDRED BRANCHES”
- The Rouge Box accessory
- A Sha-Chi accessory
Touching this flower completes A Brother Once More. The Rouge Box card reads:
“The rouge inside was a gift from Jin to his younger sister, Xiu. It caught his eye as he passed a shop, and he knew at once that she would love the color. Yet the rouge became tainted by the Sha-Chi that clung to Jin, and now seems redder than ever.”
The accessory’s effect is “After consuming Sha-Chi, reduces the delay before regeneration begins by 50%.”
The dowry chest
Jin’s defeat also makes a dowry chest available. It sits roughly 83 m from the Puppet Testing Grounds bell and 65 m beneath it. Inspect the chest to take its contents.
