This Mirror of Life sits in the Realm of Old Night, a sub-area of the Catacombs of Paris. Using it saves your game and refills your healing vials. The area's other Mirror of Life is at Quarry Elevator. The closest Ferryman's Wharf, where the Ferryman's boat runs between areas, is in Collapsed Path of Orpheus.
Relic chests nearby hold the Ebony Claw in Throat of Hell, the Necro Charm in Jaws of Limbo and the Forsaken Ring in Antechamber of Sin. Weapon chests give the Whip in Hall of the Fallen Angels and Gungnir in Collapsed Path of Orpheus. The Ferryman's Obol is in Mammon's Lair and the Oozing Eye in Circle of Greed. Circle of Greed and Throat of Hell also hold 1 Brave Heart Fragment and 1 Wise Heart Fragment.
You first meet Death nearby in an intro fight at Altar of Bones. Mammon waits in Mammon's Lair. Beating it earns The Miser arcana and the Wheel of Chaos spell and clears The Whisperer story step, after which Rose takes the obols from the gold hoard as the Ferryman's Obol key item. The sealed door in Circle of Greed opens with the Oozing Eye, Trembling Eye and Thrilling Eye, and the clue A Door made of Flesh and Eyes is there. Antechamber of Sin leads to Holy Innocents' Cemetery.
