The Asp is an enemy that takes extra damage from Slash and Fire, holds up against Strike and Ice, and cannot be Blighted. It drops Brinebeast Fragment, Norgan Salmon, Aged Norgan Salmon, Scrag of Beast, Alpine Hare Meat, Shorefish, Asp Toxiscale and Beast-Skin. During a fight you can also pilfer Brinebeast Fragment, Detoxifying Decoction, Waking Powder, Tideswimmer, Aged Tideswimmer, Asp Toxiscale, Purple Dye, Wakestone Shard and Ring of Purification from it.
The map has 110 Asp spots. The densest clusters are around Battahl Ropeway Station Two and Dimdark Cave, with 13 each. River's Edge Grotto follows with 9, and Rocky Lair and Waterfall Cave have 7 apiece. If you are after Asp Toxiscale or another of its drops, start around Battahl Ropeway Station Two or Dimdark Cave. Then move on to River's Edge Grotto, Rocky Lair or Waterfall Cave.
