Enshrouded 1.0: How to Get Mauveine and Flammable Goo

Finish the Alchemic Wisdom quest to unlock both Laboratory recipes, then craft them with Tar and Shroud Vapor.

Finish the Alchemic Wisdom quest to unlock both Laboratory recipes, then craft them with Tar and Shroud Vapor.

Mauveine and Flammable Goo are both Laboratory crafts in Enshrouded, and they share a single unlock. Once you have them, they feed into Flame Altar upgrades, trousers, arrows, dyes and more, so the first job is finishing the quest that opens both recipes at once.

Quick answer: The Alchemist’s Alchemic Wisdom quest makes both Laboratory recipes available. 5 Tar, 1 Shroud Vapor, 1 Nitrate and 1 Sulfur make 5 Mauveine; 5 Tar, 1 Shroud Vapor, 1 Coal and 1 Goo make 5 Flammable Goo.

Unlock both recipes with Alchemic Wisdom

The Alchemist’s Alchemic Wisdom task centers on recovering both pieces of the Ripped Alchemist’s Wall Hanging in the Albaneve Summits and mounting them in a frame at your base. Completing the collection makes Mauveine and another Laboratory recipe available; the other recipe is Flammable Goo.

In your journal, set the Alchemist’s Alchemic Wisdom quest to tracked. Its objectives will show the destinations you must visit on your map.

In the Albaneve Summits, the lighthouse near Wickmouth holds the first piece of the wall hanging. Look for the quest objective Search In The Lighthouse.
The other piece is in a vulture nest near Rothstep, in the Albaneve Summits as well. Track Follow The Vultures To Their Nest to see the vulture nests marked on your map, or check the locations on the interactive map.
Return to your base and place both halves in the frame, which completes the quest step Combine The Pieces In A Frame. The game then shows “Recipe unlocked” for Mauveine, plus one more at the Laboratory.

You only need to put this collection together once on a server; its crafting recipes are available to everyone on that server.

Craft Shroud Vapor first

Both recipes need Shroud Vapor, so make a supply before you start. Shroud Vapor is crafted at the Laboratory from 10 Enshrouded Ice, 15 Active Mycelium and 20 Salt, producing 5 in 135 seconds. The recipe unlocks once you have picked up Enshrouded Ice. Its item text reads “A potent base for crafting potions of various kinds.”
