Lid is the fourth party member in Final Fantasy Resonance. She joins Rain, Lasswell and Fina early in Chapter 2, “Eternal Blue”. You can’t miss her, because the story won’t move forward until she signs on. Getting to her still means talking to the right townspeople from the right angle, and a few of those Talk prompts are fussy.
Quick answer: Lid joins at the start of Chapter 2, in Dilmagia on the continent of Dirnado. Finish “Gather information in Dilmagia” by talking to the three marked townspeople; the last one, a Youth on the east branch, names Lid. The objective changes to “Find Lid at the shipyard”, and on the shipyard deck she turns down renting out her airship but signs on as a “free guide” with Mechabo, her mechanical chocobo. You can’t miss her: the story won’t move on without her. Lid is a Commando who fights with a Hammer.

When Lid joins
Chapter 2 opens on the continent of Dirnado with the objective “Go to Dilmagia, the machinopolis”. Once you’re in town, Rain says “Since the Wind Crystal should be in Dirnado, let’s start by asking the location of the Wind Shrine.” The objective then switches to “Gather information in Dilmagia”.
The party recruits Lid during the town’s closing sequence, before departing for Mt. Thunderclap. The remainder of the chapter appears in the Final Fantasy Resonance walkthrough.

He opens with “It’s my dream to buy an airship someday.” and then names Lid: “Yep! There’s someone at the shipyard who does just that. Her name’s Lid. A bit of an oddball, though.”

When the conversation ends, the objective changes to “Find Lid at the shipyard”.

Lid drops in and clocks the party right away: “That insignia looks familiar… Knights from Grandshelt, huh?”

The shipyard scene and Mechabo
Lid won’t rent out her airship. She adds, “Look, even if I wanted to, this ship can’t fly right now. It’s under repair.”

Rain accepts the detour: “Yeah, so much for going by air. Looks like we’re hiking our way to the Wind Shrine.”
Instead, she offers to come along as a “free guide”, because “It’s a tricky road to the shrine”. She wraps the deal up with “Perfect! Glad we came to an agreement so quickly.”

Then Fina spots her companion: “Um, Lid… I wanted to ask, but… is that a chocobo?”

Lid introduces him: “It’s a cutie, huh? This is Mechabo, my very own mechanical chocobo. I built him myself!”

Mechabo responds by kicking Lasswell, who changes his tune fast: “I take it all back. Get this stupid contraption away from me!”

Lid then sets the route: “Right, off to the Wind Shrine we go! So, the quickest way is over Mt. Thunderclap to the northeast.”

A Quest Updated banner confirms the new objective, “Cross over Mt. Thunderclap”. The scene has no dialogue choices, so there’s nothing to get wrong here.

Lid is now in the party. You can check this on the save screen, which shows four portraits instead of three.

Lid’s role, weapon and skills
Lid is a Commando, which makes her a damage dealer, and her attacks are Physical. Her gear options:
- Weapon: Hammer. No other character can equip hammers.
- Armor: light armor and heavy armor
- Accessories: any
Her base stats at Lv.1:
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| HP | 180 |
| MP | 35 |
| Strength | 27 |
| Stamina | 22 |
| Magic | 17 |
| Spirit | 16 |
| Speed | 6 |
She learns these skills by level:
| Level | Skill |
|---|---|
| Lv.1 | March of the Machines |
| Lv.1 | Mechabo Kick |
| Lv.1 | Mechabo Escape |
| Lv.3 | Stone |
| Lv.16 | Stonera |
| Lv.25 | Reflect |
| Lv.32 | Stonega |
Stone, Stonera and Stonega are Earth magic. That makes them useful against Ramuh, who is weak to Earth.
The Dilmagia weapon shop doesn’t sell hammers. It only stocks the Knight’s Blade, Samurai’s Katana and Composite Bow (see the Dilmagia shops).
Find her strongest hammers in the hammers list. Visions expand her skill set, and the best Visions for each character explains which choices work well for her.
Later: Lid’s stat choice, weapon and story
Later in Chapter 2, after the crash, Rain gets a one-time reply choice for Lid on the airship deck. Each reply permanently gives her a different stat:
| Rain’s reply | Bonus |
|---|---|
| “No matter what happens, we’ll have your back.” | Strength +3 |
| “There might be a reason behind your brother’s change.” | Magic +3 |
| “Doesn’t matter how far away you are, siblings are still siblings.” | Stamina +3 |
The other characters’ choices are collected in the character choices rundown.
Once Forger of Wills is done, Aileen can make the Mechabo Hammer SUPER for Lid in exchange for one Adamantite. It has Phys. Atk 142 and Mag. Atk 133, and “Grants Overclock and allows the wielder to act first at the start of battle.” The requirements are covered under Aileen’s questions.
Completing Lid’s personal side story, Beyond the Blue, permanently raises her HP by 100, MP by 30, Strength by 25 and Magic by 25. Find it among the other side quests.
For how to put her weapon, armor, Vision and stat pick together, see the Lid section of the recommended builds.
