Steal an Egg: How to Get and Equip Trails

Trails in Steal An Egg are more than a cosmetic streak behind your character. Each one applies a passive speed multiplier, which is the single most useful thing you can buy for moving across the map and outrunning the guardians that protect every biome. You purchase and equip them at a dedicated shop inside your Safe Zone.

Quick answer: Steal an egg from an outer zone and drop it in your pen to earn cash, walk into the glowing yellow “TRAILS SHOP” circle in the Safe Zone, select a trail you can afford, buy it with Cash or Robux, and press Equip to activate its speed boost.

Earn the cash to afford a trail first

Trails are bought with in-game Cash, which you earn by completing successful egg runs. A completed run is one where you grab an egg from a zone and carry it all the way back to your pen without a guardian catching you.

Travel out from the Safe Zone into a biome you can handle, such as the Forest or Desert. Walk up to a nest and press the Steal prompt (or E) to pick up an egg.

The moment the egg is yours, the parent guardian starts chasing you and a red RUN!! warning appears. Do not stop or detour. Run straight back toward your Safe Zone so the guardian cannot flize you and knock the egg loose.

Back inside your pen, use the Drop action to deposit the egg. You will see a “You stole an EGG!” confirmation and receive your cash reward. Repeat until you have enough for the trail you want.

Buy and equip a trail at the Trails Shop

The Trails Shop sits inside your Safe Zone and is marked by a glowing yellow circle labeled “TRAILS SHOP.” You do not need to press a button to open it.

Scroll through the list and find a trail within your budget. Each entry shows its rarity, speed multiplier, and its Cash and Robux prices. Click the trail, then confirm the purchase using either Cash or Robux.

Once bought, press Equip on that trail to turn it on. The button switches to Unequip, which confirms the trail is active. You can own several trails and swap between them, but only one applies its multiplier at a time.

Every trail, speed multiplier, and price

There are 10 trails, ranging from Common to Divine rarity. Higher rarities cost far more but grant much larger speed multipliers, which unlock access to the tougher biomes. Prices can shift with updates, so treat the value shown in your own server as final if it differs.

How to confirm the speed boost is working

Once a trail is equipped, an animated effect follows your character as you run, and your movement is visibly faster. The Blue Trail, for example, applies a 2.5x multiplier, while the Golden Trail applies 3.5x. If you see the trailing effect and reach nests noticeably quicker than before, the multiplier is active.

Stack trails with treadmill training for the highest speed

A trail multiplier only reaches its full potential when combined with the base speed you build on the treadmill next to your base. Training on the treadmill, and upgrading it so each step gives more speed, raises the number the trail multiplies. That is why endgame players invest in both a high-rarity trail and treadmill upgrades rather than pouring all their cash into a single trail. The extra speed margin is what lets you enter zones like the Desert and beyond, grab the egg, and return before a guardian catches you.
