Frank hands out four quests in a fixed order, and each one gates the next. Nothing here scales off Idol Favor, which means you can start it the moment you land on Skycrest — and you should, because the chain runs for roughly a week rather than staying in the game permanently.

How to unlock the Fruitline rod
[F] prompt labelled “Tropical Fruit” when you are close enough to grab it, and they are scattered across the whole of Skycrest rather than clustered in the settlement.
The quest tracker counts every pickup, so you can check your total at any point instead of recounting by memory. Only the twenty-fifth fruit closes the stage.

Catching Fruity Abaia and breaking its crest barriers
Two messages confirm the summon worked: “A Tropical Squall has descended!” followed by “An Fruity Abaia stirs within its chamber…” The boss then moves between spots rather than waiting for you, which is the single most common reason a first attempt fails.
Hooking it does not immediately start the real catch. You first have to strip its crest barriers, and you need to break all of them before it relocates. If it moves while a barrier is still up, you have to track it down and start the pressure again.
With the barriers down, the fight becomes a standard click-and-hold progress reel against the boss. Bring your highest-Luck endgame rod and stack whatever luck boosts you have running on the server — a Stage 10 rod such as SOULREAPER handles the final reel comfortably.
How to confirm the Fruitline unlocked
Landing the Fruity Abaia ticks “Catch and return 1 Fruity Abaia (0/1)” in the tracker, but the rod does not appear until you speak to Frank again. When you do, the game throws up a “You have unlocked Fruitline!” banner and the rod drops into your Equipment Bag. The Rod Journal also credits 3,000 XP under the Skycrest section, which is a reliable second check if you missed the banner.
Why the Fruitline questline does not progress
- The Fire of Spirits offering only counts during a Tropical Sun. Any other weather and the ritual will not build.
- You need all nine limited Skycrest fish in your inventory for the offering, on top of the nine you already handed to Frank.
- Fruity Abaia despawns your hook and relocates if the crest barriers are still standing, which reads like a failed catch but is just a repositioning.
- The chain is time-limited. Once Frank’s window closes, the Fruitline is no longer obtainable through him.

Control at 0 means the white bar is only 30% of the reeling minigame, and the bar size multiplier drops to 0.8x while Fruitline’s passive is running. That is the trade for 200% Luck and no weight ceiling.
Fruit Trail is what makes the small bar workable. The rod drops a fruit every 0.45 seconds during the minigame; each fruit lasts 5 seconds and gives +1.2% progress when collected. Grabbing them within 1.5 seconds of each other builds a streak up to 10, adding +0.03 per stack.
Fruity Blessing is the reason people run this rod in group lobbies. Every catch grants a 1.1x multiplier — Luck, Lure, Strength, Resilience, Control, Progress Speed, and Line Distance — to you and anyone within 10 studs, and it bumps your equipped companion two levels higher. The base duration is 6 seconds, but stacking the fruit multiplier during the minigame extends it, reaching up to 15 minutes at a 101x stack. The buff also stays on you after you swap to a different rod.
Abaia’s Spite still wins on raw handling with 80% Resilience, but the Fruitline is the Luck rod of the Skycrest set, and the party-wide buff makes it the one worth prioritising if you fish alongside other players. Since Frank’s chain expires and the Abaia content does not, clear the fruit questline first and come back for the rest of Skycrest afterwards.
